Abstract
The continuing high level of imports since devaluation has worried a lot of people. Imports were higher in the first eight months of this year than the Chancellor's budget forecast; the National Institute of Economic and Social Research has revised its 1968 forecast of imports upwards and has called for import controls by Government.
