A researcher from Dubai studied the application of Western performance management systems (PMSs) in the non-western context of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The study, based on data from 439 employees, explored the best practice attributes of e traditional single-rating and multi-rating 360° PMSs. It also offered evidence for the significant role of uncertainty avoidance and power distance orientation as mediators.
