Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate how digital orientation affects digital process innovation from the dual perspectives of knowledge and capability. It also stresses the mediating effects of digital knowledge creation and strategic flexibility on this relationship, as well as the moderating effect of strategic flexibility on the relationship between digital knowledge creation and digital process innovation.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper adopted knowledge- and capability-based views to develop the theoretical model. A total of 193 samples from China were collected to test the model and hypotheses by the partial least squares structural equation modeling method.
Findings
The results indicate that digital orientation promotes knowledge creation and strategic flexibility respectively, which in turn facilitates digital process innovation. Also, the effect of digital knowledge creation on digital process innovation is moderated by strategic flexibility.
Originality/value
This study adopts the dual perspectives of knowledge and capability to deepen the relationship between digital orientation and digital process innovation by introducing digital knowledge creation and strategic flexibility as the crucial links, which responds to the call for attaching importance to digital process innovation.

Abstract
Purpose
With the increasing abundance of network resources and big data, multi-modal information search (MMIS) has been paid more and more attention, but the research results of MMIS are relatively few. This paper attempts to put forward constructive suggestions for the design of multi-modal information system, so that the system can have a better user experience, help users improve the efficiency of obtaining information and optimize the information service mode.
Design/methodology/approach
A research model of influencing factors is established by using the TAM (technology acceptance model) theory. The influencing factors of users' multi-modal information search behavior (MMISB) are analyzed by using questionnaire, experiment and the structural equation model. On the basis of this, some suggestions are put forward to build the multi-modal search (MMS) system and improve the efficiency of MMIS.
Findings
The research shows that users' MMISB is directly related to their search intention, and the search intention can influence users' cognition of the usefulness and ease of MMIS through their own information search ability and system characteristics. The user's MMIS ability is affected by the demand expression ability and retrieval ability cognition; the user's cognition of system characteristics is affected by the system function and information quality. This shows that the user's MMISB is closely related to the user's cognitive situation, but due to the author's limited time and research ability, only the questionnaire survey method cannot be used to in-depth research and explore the influencing factors of MMIS. Therefore, in the future research, we should combine the interview method to further track the user's emotional factors and scene factors.
Originality/value
For the first time, TAM theory is combined with cross-modal retrieval behavior and the paper explores the influencing factors and evaluation indexes of users' MMISB. The second, the questionnaire was compiled to investigate the influencing factors of the MMISB of the university group, and the reliability analysis, validity analysis, correlation analysis and structural equation model analysis of the survey data are carried out . The survey data and analysis results are original, which can provide a theoretical basis for improving the service level of MMIS.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to explore the inverted U-shaped relationship between green customer integration (GCI) and opportunistic behavior, as well as the moderating effects of contractual control and relational norms.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors conducted hierarchical regression analysis using two-waved data from 206 Chinese manufacturing firms to test hypotheses.
Findings
The authors found that GCI has an inverted U-shaped effect on opportunistic behavior. Furthermore, both contractual control and relational norms negatively moderate the inverted U-shaped relationship between GCI and opportunistic behavior.
Originality/value
This study uncovers an inverted U-shaped link between GCI and opportunistic behavior by combining transaction cost economics and social exchange theory. Furthermore, this study reveals contractual control and relational norms can be deemed as two boundary conditions affecting the inverted U-shaped GCI–opportunistic behavior relationship. This study also offers managerial implications for firms curbing opportunistic behavior that may result from GCI.

Abstract
Purpose
Based on upper echelons theory and social contagion theory, this study aims to explore how to translate leader sustainability orientation (LSO) into green supply chain integration (GSCI) by green entrepreneurial orientation (GEO), as well as the moderating effects of four dimensions of organizational learning capability (OLC).
Design/methodology/approach
This study conducts hierarchical regression analysis using multi-sourced survey data collected in 264 Chinese companies to examine hypotheses.
Findings
The results indicate that LSO has positive influences on green supplier and customer integration. Furthermore, GEO partially mediates the impacts of LSO on green supplier and customer integration. Managerial commitment positively moderates the impact of LSO on GEO, while other dimensions such as systems perspective, openness and experimentation and knowledge transfer and integration have non-significant moderating effects.
Originality/value
This study enriches the existing research on internal drivers of GSCI and contributes to the understanding of the direct impact of LSO and mediating effects of GEO. This study extends social contagion theory boundaries by investigating the moderating effects of OLC on the relationship between LSO and GEO.

The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of qualitative ferrographic analysis by quantitative parameters of wear debris characteristics.
Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to propose a method of qualitative ferrographic analysis by quantitative parameters of wear debris characteristics.
Design/methodology/approach
The amount of the wear debris needed for analysis on the ferrogram made by rotary ferrograph is discussed based on the theory of debris group. Quantitative parameters are constituted to express the characteristics of wear debris group, and correlation coefficients are employed to establish the relationship between wear debris and wear condition. The reliability of the method was verified by wear test experiments and ferrographic analysis.
Findings
The wear condition of machines should be determined by studying all the debris together as a group rather than by focusing on individual debris. In the proposed method, the qualitative analysis result is obtained by synthetic analysis of quantitative parameters of wear debris characteristics using a computer program, which makes the judgment of the wear system condition more objective and precise.
Research limitations/implications
In the procedure of wear condition monitoring by the proposed method, because the weight factors and correlation coefficients introduced in this paper are determined according to the experiences deriving from practice among mining machinery, further rectifications may be needed if they are applied to other industrial field.
Originality/value
The paper illustrates a more objective and precise ferrographic analysis method for wear condition monitoring.

Abstract
This study investigates the structure of China’s market by examining the profiles of consumption values from a large scale national survey of 6250 respondents. The study identifies four consumer segments that pursue distinct patterns of consumption values, including: purchase value, social status, performance and aesthetics, and “satisfi cing” needs. These distinct consumption value profiles help to provide a much needed understanding of China’s consumer market that complements existing studies on sociodemographic characteristics. These four distinct segments provide useful positioning and marketing implications for multinational firms operating in the China market.

Abstract
Purpose
Virtual maintenance simulation is of great importance to help designers find and avoid design problems. During its simulation phase, besides the high precision requirement, collision detection must be suitable for all irregular objects in a virtual maintenance environment. Therefore, in this paper, a collision detection approach is proposed based on encapsulation for irregular objects in the virtual maintenance environment.
Design/methodology/approach
First, virtual maintenance simulation characteristics and several commonly used bounding boxes methods are analyzed, which motivates the application of encapsulation theory. Based on these, three different encapsulation methods are oriented to the needs of simulation, including encapsulation of rigid maintenance objects, flexible maintenance objects and maintenance personnel. In addition, to detecting collisions accurately, this paper divides the detection process into two stages. That is, in the first stage, a rough detection is carried out and then a tiny slice space is constructed to generate corresponding capsule groups, which will be redetected in the secondary stage. At last, several case studies are applied to illustrate the performance of the methodology.
Findings
The automatic construction algorithm for bounding boxes can be adapted to all forms of objects. The number of detection primitives are greatly reduced. It introduces the reachable space of the human body in maintainability as the collision search area.
Originality/value
The advantages of virtual maintenance simulation could also be advantageous in the industry with further studies. The paper believes this study is of particular interest to the readers of your journal.

Abstract
Purpose
Interphase forces between the gas and liquid phases determine many phenomena in bubbly flow. For the interphase forces in a multiphase rotodynamic pump, the magnitude analysis was carried out within the framework of two-fluid model. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relative importance of various interphase forces on the mixed transport process, and the findings herein will be a base for the future study on the mechanism of the gas blockage phenomenon, which is the most challenging issue for such pumps.
Design/methodology/approach
Four types of interphase forces, i.e. drag force, lift force, virtual mass force and turbulent dispersion force (TDF) were taken into account. By comparing with the experiment in the respect of the head performance, the effectiveness of the numerical model was validated. In conditions of different inlet gas void fractions, bubble diameters and rotational speeds, the magnitude analyses were made for the interphase forces.
Findings
The results demonstrate that the TDF can be neglected in the running of the multiphase rotodynamic pump; the drag force is dominant in the impeller region and the outlet extended region. The sensitivity analyses of the bubble diameter and the rotational speed were also performed. It is found that larger bubble size is accompanied by smaller predicted drag but larger predicted lift and virtual mass, while the increase of the rotational speed can raise all the interphase forces mentioned above.
Originality/value
This paper has revealed the magnitude information and the relative importance of the interphase forces in a multiphase rotodynamic pump.

Abstract
Purpose
Based on upper echelons (UE) theory, the purpose of this study is to investigate a conceptualized moderated mediation model for examining the effects of top management team (TMT) heterogeneity and firm value in China through the mediating effect of product diversification, the moderating effect of ownership type between TMT heterogeneity and product diversification and the moderating effect of executive shareholding between product diversification and firm value.
Design/methodology/approach
Unbalanced panel data were collected over 5 years with a total of 6,597 observations, organized through the WIND (Wind Economic Database) and CSMAR (China Stock Market and Accounting Research) Database. The hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling and analyzed with stata15.0 software.
Findings
The results indicated that product diversification plays a mediating role between TMT heterogeneity and firm value. In China, TMT heterogeneity of non–state-owned enterprises plays a more significant role in promoting product diversification than that of state-owned enterprises; executive shareholding strengthens the relationship between product diversification and firm value.
Research limitations/implications
The characteristic dimension of TMT is seen as a relatively static factor, and it is worth looking at whether a more dynamic system of evaluation and measurement can be established.
Originality/value
This study enriches theoretical research on TMT and contributes to UE theory in several ways. First, we studied the mediation effect of product diversification between TMT heterogeneity and firm value. This extends research on UE theory to possible process variables. Second, considering the influence of the unique institutional environment in China on corporate strategic decisions, the study investigates state-owned and non–state-owned enterprises. Specifically, it looks at the influence of ownership type as a moderating variable between TMT heterogeneity and product diversification. Third, the paper discusses the moderating effect of executive shareholding on the product diversification–firm value relationship. The research contributes to agency theory and expands research on different economic systems by implementing agency theory.

Abstract
This chapter of the book aims to introduce multiobjective linear programming (MLP) as an optimum tool to find the best quality engineering techniques (QET) in the main domains of supply chain management (SCM). The importance of finding the best quality techniques in SCM elements in the shortest possible time and at the least cost allows all organizations to increase the power of experts’ analysis in supply chain network (SCN) data under cost-effective conditions. In other words, this chapter aims to introduce an operations research model by presenting MLP for obtaining the best QET in the main domains of SCM. MLP is one of the most determinative tools in this chapter that can provide a competitive advantage. Under goal and system constraints, the most challenging task for decision-makers (DMs) is to decide which components to fund and at what levels. The definition of a comprehensive target value among the required goals and determining system constraints is the strength of this chapter. Therefore, this chapter can guide the readers to extract the best statistical and non-statistical techniques with the application of an operations research model through MLP in supply chain elements and shows a new innovation of the effective application of operations research approach in this field. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is a supplemental tool in this chapter to facilitate the relevant decision-making process.
