Abstract

Purpose

In view of the current difficulty of separation of troxerutin, the purpose of the paper is to separate and purify semi-synthetic flavonoid compound troxerutin by macroporous adsorption resin (SZ-3).

Design/methodology/approach

Comparing the adsorption performance and resolution of three different polar resins and choosing a resin to optimize the process parameters such as sample volume, eluent concentration and elution temperature to obtain high-purity troxerutin. After separating and enriching by resin column chromatography, detected the sample by LC-MS analysis.

Findings

This research found that the optimal conditions of the adsorption and desorption were sample volume S = 90 mg/g resin, methanol concentration C = 25%, T = 20 °C. the content of troxerutin increased significantly from 88% to more than 96%. Then confirmed the sample was troxerutin by LC-MS. In addition, the resin could be used for at least 10 cycles in the separation and purification experiments of troxerutin.

Originality/value

Purification of troxerutin with new SZ-3 resin for the first time. Under the optimal conditions, the purity and recovery of troxerutin was 96.4% and 39%. In this study, the authors established a purification process of troxerutin successfully that was simple, economical, environment friendly, with high purity and high recovery rate to provide a reference program for changing the status of troxerutin separation difficulties.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this study is to explore whether information technology (IT) integration capability and data sharing can improve project management performance in China’s construction industry under the background of global informatization. Moreover, the authors explore the moderating role of relational governance between IT integration capability and data sharing.

Design/methodology/approach

A theoretical model based on the research hypotheses proposed in this study was developed, and a questionnaire survey was conducted with 205 professionals. The data collected were analyzed by the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique.

Findings

The results indicate that IT integration capability has a significant and positive impact on project management performance and data sharing. Moreover, data sharing has a significant and positive impact on project management performance, and it plays a mediating role between IT integration capability and project management performance. In addition, relational governance significantly influences the mediating effect of data sharing.

Research limitations/implications

The data used in this study is from Chinese scenarios, so the research conclusions and application effects based on this are bound to have certain regional limitations. So, a larger sample size from other countries could be selected to test the model. Besides, there are many factors that affect project management performance improving, and the theoretical model proposed in this study may not be fully considered. Therefore, follow-up researchers can consider bringing more suitable variables into their research studies, so that the theoretical research studies can be more in line with the actual project management practice.

Originality/value

This research’s value is as follows: Firstly, this paper broadens the understanding of how IT integration capability, data sharing and relational governance affects project management performance and enriches the literature in the construction management field under the background of global informatization. Secondly, this research provides a detailed governance solution to improve project management performance.

Abstract

Purpose

The purpose of this paper is to value put option contracts in hedging the risks in a supply chain consisting of a component supplier with random yield and a manufacturer facing stochastic demand for end products.

Design/methodology/approach

This paper adopts stochastic inventory theory, game theory, optimization theory and algorithm and MATLAB numerical simulation to investigate the manufacturer’s ordering and the supplier’s production strategies, and to study the coordination and optimization strategies in the context of random yield and demand.

Findings

The authors find that put options can not only facilitate the manufacturer’s order but also the supplier’s production, that is, the manufacturer and the supplier can effectively manage their involved risks and earn more expected profits by adopting put options. Further, the authors find that the single put option contract fails to coordinate such a supply chain. However, when combined with a protocol, it is able to coordinate the supply chain.

Originality/value

This paper is the first effort to study the intersection of put option contracts and random yield in the presence of a spot market. From a new perspective, the authors explore the supply chain coordination. The authors propose a mechanism to coordinate the supply chain under put option contracts.

Abstract

Purpose

The paper aims to investigate the push, pull and mooring effects towardswitching intention to halal cosmetic products.

Design/methodology/approach

The rapid growth of the halal industry in Muslim and non-Muslim countries opens a new market for cosmetic companies. For Muslims, using halal cosmetics is one of the religious orders, which their behavior relies on religious values. However, consuming nonhalal cosmetic products is still popular among Muslim consumers. The data are gathered through an online self-administered questionnaire. The total sample is 220 Indonesian females with an 88% response rate. Then, partial least squares structural equation modeling is used to analyze the data.

Findings

The result showed that regret, perceived value and religious beliefs influence the switching intention behavior to use halal cosmetics products. While dissatisfaction influences regret, and the brand also influences perceived value.

Originality/value

The paper provides several factors that are still rarely investigated previously in the context of halal cosmetics literature, such as perceived value and brand image (Handriana et al., 2020). Hence, these factors contribute significantly to the intention of Muslim consumers to switch to halal cosmetics.
