Abstract
Apparently, scholarly attention is shifting to Society 5.0. The study of Industry 4.0 (I4.0), including its impacts on industrial productions and services, is saturated. However, there is a need for scientific investigations of the relatively new emerging concept of Society 5.0, especially regarding its relationship with I4.0. Given this necessity, the chapter conceptually examines Society 5.0 new normal and its antecedent – I4.0, with a value of the economically productive society in the post-coronavirus pandemic era. The chapter further elucidates the strategic role of emotional resilience and I4.0 collaborative partnership. Society 5.0 aims for a new society based on the notion of a human-centred economy and inclusivity. Consequently, new sets of innovative and artistic jobs will possibly emerge, driven by human competencies in collaboration with technology. In other words, Society 5.0 new normal is targeting a balanced or blended economic approach that favours a fit between society and industry and ensures that all citizens live a high-quality life by eliminating the delimiting effect of technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) on the physical space and wellbeing of the people. Hence, I4.0 collaborative partnership and emotional resilience are perceived as strategic and influential in achieving the feat of a Super Smart Society.

Purpose
The main purpose of this chapter is to discuss the design and development of creative ventures and activities in tourism-related industries. This chapter also aims to provide prospective entrepreneurs with practical guidance to pursue business opportunities and manage creative tourism business.
Methodology/approach
Literature review was conducted on main conceptual issues and practical aspects of entrepreneurship and creative tourism business. These issues have been illustrated by case studies from the business world.
Findings
This chapter outlines and highlights the main components/segments of the creative tourism, the profile of entrepreneurs in this industry, the main elements of creative tourism experiences, as well as the requirements and expectations of creative tourists.
Research limitations/implications
This chapter is explorative in nature based on a literature review and case studies. It takes an entrepreneurial perspective and approach.
Practical implications
An in-depth understanding the concept of creative tourism and its implementation is really useful in designing, managing and marketing the appropriate offering of experience opportunities in the creative tourism business. Therefore, to provide high-quality offering and memorable experiences in this field, prospective entrepreneurs should fully understand and apprehend the characteristics, the requirements and expectations of creative tourists.
Originality/value
This chapter analyses conceptual frameworks and presents practical examples of business ventures through case study development. In doing so, it provides a better understanding of the entrepreneurship in the field of creative tourism.

Purpose
In the present era, the achievement of employee Islamic performance has become a significant challenge for organizations. The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of Islamic leadership on employee Islamic performance directly and indirectly by bridging the connections between employees’ Islamic organizational values, Islamic organizational culture, and Islamic work motivation among the employees of Egyptian banks.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors used quantitative methods in this study and based its findings on the data received from 312 respondents in response to a questionnaire.
Findings
By using SmartPLS 4, this study’s findings demonstrate that Islamic leadership has a positive and significant effect on Islamic organizational values, culture, employee Islamic performance and work motivation. While Islamic organizational values and Islamic organizational culture do not significantly impact employee Islamic performance, Islamic work motivation is a significant predictor of employee Islamic performance. On the one hand, Islamic organizational values and Islamic organizational culture do not mediate the relationship between Islamic leadership and employee Islamic performance. On the other hand, Islamic work motivation is a mediating variable that significantly develops the relationship between Islamic leadership and employee Islamic performance.
Practical implications
The study’s findings support policymakers and human resource management practitioners to develop plans and strategies which enhance the Islamic performance of organizations’ employees. In addition, this study’s findings provide insights for researchers and academicians in developing Islamic leadership within their organizations so that they operate by Islamic values and codes.
Originality/value
Finally, by offering an integrated model of Islamic leadership, Islamic organizational values, Islamic organizational culture and employee Islamic performance, this study’s findings fill the gaps in the context of bank employees in a developing country, namely, Egypt.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to outline the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Libraries (GLs) initiative approach to advocacy and how it informs, guides, and integrates impact data to support sustainability of GL program results.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper defines advocacy in the context of GL, and explores the GL grant planning process, tools, and collaboration between advocacy and impact specialists. Results are demonstrated through grantee examples that illustrate a variety of approaches to library advocacy using impact data at local, country, and regional levels.
Findings
The paper demonstrates the importance of identifying community needs, designing impact measures to demonstrate how libraries help to address those needs, and the variety of ways impact evidence can be used to effectively advocacy for public libraries. This basic formula can be applied to advocacy efforts ranging from a broad national policy to a small incremental change in perceptions of libraries by local decision makers.
Originality/value
This paper reinforces the essential link between library impact measurement data and successful advocacy.

Purpose
Digitalization in marketing activities has made it easier for people to make purchase decision. This platform encourages every firm to optimize digitalization as part of its marketing strategy. Optimization of attractive digital marketing involves advertising attractiveness, influencer marketing and online customer reviews. This study aims to investigate advertising attractiveness, influencer marketing and online customer reviews on purchase decision.
Design/methodology/approach
The study was conducted with a quantitative approach. A total of 120 respondents were involved in this study by using convenience sampling techniques in data collection. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data.
Findings
The results of the study show that influencer marketing and online customer reviews have an impact on online purchase decision. Meanwhile, advertising attractiveness does not show any influence on purchase decision.
Practical implications
Despite the start-ups have modified the website by increasing the content to make it more informative, it seems that customers are not interested in making a purchase. Therefore, notwithstanding the role of website attractiveness, the use of physical attractiveness is still considered an effective way to encourage customers to make purchasing decisions. In this way, a firm needs to make adjustments between the customers' personality, lifestyle and attitudes and endorsers.
Originality/value
This study developed previous empirical studies which a positive relationship between advertising attractiveness, influencer marketing, online customer reviews and purchase decision. The development of the model was carried out by elaborating variable indicators. In addition, the source of increasing credibility was not based on physical attractiveness, but rather emphasizes the website quality.

Abstract
Purpose
The study aimed to measure the perception of prospective vocational education (VE) students in Indonesia toward the sustainable development of VE. Additionally, it sought to evaluate the implications of these perceptions for improving the quality of VE and preparing superior human resources to meet future demands.
Design/methodology/approach
This research employed a quantitative approach, utilizing descriptive statistical analysis, Top Two Boxes (T2B) and independent sample t-tests. Data were collected via an online questionnaire distributed through Google Forms to 394 prospective VE students from 23 provinces across Indonesia. The gender distribution of the respondents was 61% male and 39% female.
Findings
The analysis revealed that prospective VE students had a high perception of the sustainable development of VE, with a T2B value of 92.2%. This perception was significantly influenced by the presence of appropriate government regulations. Furthermore, the study noted an increase in the community’s trust in VE, as reflected in the growing ratio of vocational to general education, which shifted from 30%:70% in 2008 to 52%:48% in 2023.
Practical implications
Despite the positive perceptions, challenges persist in recruiting vocational teachers proportionally. Currently, only 5% of vocational teachers are appointed as government employees, which may affect the quality and relevance of vocational school graduates. To address this issue, the government must allocate adequate budgetary resources for recruiting and appointing vocational teachers. This step is essential to ensure sustainable growth and further enhance public trust in VE.
Originality/value
This research provides valuable insights into the perceptions of prospective VE students in Indonesia regarding the sustainable development of VE. By identifying key factors influencing these perceptions, such as government regulations, and highlighting existing challenges, the study contributes to the ongoing discourse on improving VE quality and aligning it with future demands.

Building cost is an important part of construction projects, and its correct estimation has important guiding significance for the follow-up decision-making of construction units.
Design/methodology/approach
This study focused on the application of back-propagation (BP) neural network in the estimation of building cost. First, the influencing factors of building cost were analyzed. Six factors were selected as input of the estimation model. Then, a BP neural network estimation model was established and trained by ten samples.
Findings
According to the experimental results, it was found that the estimation model converged at about 85 times; compared with radial basis function (RBF), the estimation accuracy of the model was higher, and the average error was 5.54 per cent, showing a good reliability in cost estimation.
Originality/value
The results of this study provide a reliable basis for investment decision-making in the construction industry and also contribute to the further application of BP neural network in cost estimation.

Abstract
Purpose
This study pioneers examining the relationships between psychological factors, cognitive processes and entrepreneurial mindset to enhance an understanding of the underlying mechanisms contributing to successful entrepreneurship.
Design/methodology/approach
Amos software applied a quantitative approach to analyze the fit indices for the hypothesized model, while SPSS conducted descriptive and factor analysis. Eventually, the primary survey technique was performed with quantitative research, collecting 413 numerical data through a structured, closed-ended Likert scale questionnaire delivered to the target respondents.
Findings
Results have shown that data analysis verifies the positive relationships between psychological factors and the entrepreneurial mindset (hypothesis H1) and cognitive processes and the entrepreneurial mindset (hypothesis H2). These findings contribute to understanding the mechanisms underpinning the entrepreneurial mindset and have implications for entrepreneurship development and support initiatives. The study findings also underscore the importance of understanding the covariance between psychology and cognition in the context of the entrepreneurial mindset – a complex and engaging aspect of the research that is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship.
Research limitations/implications
It is important to note that the measuring tools used to evaluate these characteristics may have issues with common technique biases, self-report biases or limitations in fully reflecting their complexity. Awareness of these potential challenges is crucial for future research in this area.
Originality/value
This study's findings have significant practical implications for entrepreneurship training, education and policy-making initiatives. Their practicality will equip the reader with the necessary knowledge to succeed in entrepreneurship.

Purpose
In electrical discharge machining (EDM) process, EDM oil used as a dielectric fluid plays an important role in determining quality of the machining operation, serving as a medium to generate controlled electrical discharges, quenching medium to cool down and solidify the eroded gaseous particles, removal of solidified waste, and lubrication medium to absorb and remove the heat generated at the machining zone. Due to presence of numerous decisive factors, no single dielectric fluid (mainly in the form of EDM oil) meets all the required characteristics during a real-time EDM operation. Thus, this paper proposes application of an integrated methodology to select the most appropriate EDM oil for enhanced machining performance during deep-hole drilling of aluminum bronze alloy.
Design/methodology/approach
A good dielectric fluid should possess several characteristics, like low cost, non-toxicity, low viscosity, good wetting property, high flash and fire points to avoid fire hazards, chemically non-corrosive, high electric strength and specific gravity, minimal aromatics and good quenching behavior. In this paper, performance of 10 alternative EDM oils is evaluated based on six selection criteria. Integrated determination of objective criteria weights (IDOCRIW) method is adopted to compute the criteria weights, whereas double normalization-based multiple aggregation (DNMA) approach is applied to identify the best-suited EDM oil from the candidate alternatives.
Findings
Spark SPO-A EDM oil appears as the most suitable dielectric fluid, followed by Fine Spark 110. Contrarily, Exxsol D80 emerges as the worst choice.
Originality/value
The robustness of the adopted methodology is finally validated through sensitivity analysis studies. It can thus be applied to solve any of the decision-making problems with high degree of accuracy and consistency.
