Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of perceptions of organizational politics on turnover intentions with a focus on the role of organizational cynicism as a potential mediator.
Design/methodology/approach
Using purposive sampling technique and standardized questionnaires, data were collected from 252 Indian bank employees. To analyze the data, statistical techniques such as multiple regression analysis along with PROCESS macro were used.
Findings
Findings indicate that perceptions of organizational politics have a significant positive effect on turnover intentions. Further, organizational cynicism is found to be the significant partial mediator in the relationship between the aforementioned constructs.
Research limitations/implications
This study covers the banking sector only. Therefore, the results may vary in the context of other industrial settings. Also, the cross-sectional research design adopted in this study may create difficulties in drawing any causal inferences.
Practical implications
To curtail turnover intentions of bank employees, extensive power-seeking activities need to be regulated by the management. Besides, participative decision-making activities must be encouraged to curb the formation of cynical attitudes among employees.
Originality/value
This study is one of the scarce empirical research works that have substantiated the direct and the indirect effect of perceptions of organizational politics (through organizational cynicism) on turnover intentions among bank employees.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of organizational cynicism (OCyn) on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among bank employees with a focus on the role of work alienation (WA) as a potential mediator.
Design/methodology/approach
Using standardized questionnaire, data were collected from 381 employees working in the banking sector of Punjab, a northern state of India. Statistical techniques such as hierarchical multiple regression and confirmatory factor analysis along with PROCESS macro were used for data analysis.
Findings
Results reveal that OCyn has a significant negative effect on OCB. Further, WA is found to be significantly partially mediating the relationship between the aforementioned constructs.
Research limitations/implications
This study pertains to a single sector i.e., banking sector restricting the generalizability to other industrial and vocational settings. Further, it may be difficult to draw any causal inferences as the research design adopted for this study is cross-sectional in nature.
Practical implications
In order to promote OCBs among bank employees, the formation of negative workplace attitudes such as OCyn and WA needs to be regulated. This can be achieved through improving communications network, encouraging participative decision-making activities, conducting psychological counseling and stress management training sessions.
Originality/value

Purpose
This study aims to identify various socioeconomic variables that influence the development of work alienation among Indian bank employees.
Design/methodology/approach
Data were collected from a sample of 552 employees working in ten public and ten private sector banks in Punjab. Statistical techniques such as the independent sample t-test, Welch’s F-test, and Games–Howell procedure were used for data analysis.
Findings
Results of this study indicated that socioeconomic variables, namely, age, educational qualification, monthly income, and work experience, significantly influence work alienation among bank employees. In contrast, gender, marital status, type of bank, and cadre did not have any significant relationship with work alienation.
Originality/value
This study is one of the limited research studies that has examined the linkage between socioeconomic variables and work alienation in the context of the banking sector of a developing nation like India.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to provide a broad overview of the corpus of studies on digital finance in relation to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups.
Design/methodology/approach
Bibliometric analysis was used, allowing to investigate the relevant literature (735 articles). In accordance with best practices, relevant articles were identified on the topic following the PRISMA 2020 framework that ensures reproducible and rigorous results. The search then proceeds with performance analysis, identifying key trends at the intersection of research fields, including distribution of articles by year, citations by year, most cited contributions and most cited and prolific authors. This is followed by analyses of co-citation, co-authorship and co-occurrence with a detailed description of the thematic clusters identified.
Findings
Performance analysis shows that scholarly output covers a 12-year period, starting in 2011, and demonstrates a growing interest in this topic. Co-occurrence analysis reveals a significant intellectual structure which allows numerous knowledge gaps to emerge, and these offer new opportunities to be addressed in future research.
Originality/value
This study uniquely focuses on the evolution of the research domain related to digital finance associated with SMEs and startups. It provides implications for practitioners and avenues that researchers can develop in the future to produce impactful studies.

Purpose
This study aims to examine the recent literature on health-promoting behavior, health needs and associated factors among older adults.
Design/methodology/approach
An massive search of five databases involving documents in the past decade was commenced.
Findings
This review showed a significant relationship between older adults’ demographic characteristics (marital status, income, chronic disease, education level and smoking status) and health-promoting behaviors. This review showed that older adults with a high level of education, high income, chronic diseases and smoker and married older adults are associated with better health-promoting behaviors.
Originality/value
The result of the current review supports the Pender Health Promotion Model that individual personal characteristics can affect the level of engagement in health-promoting behaviors. Assessing the health-promoting behaviors of older adults can help in identifying their health needs.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to examine the connectedness among Memecoin, Halal exchange traded funds (ETF) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) indexes in different quantiles.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors consider Dogecoin to measure Memecoin while Wahed FTSE USA Shariah ETF (HLAL) and SP Funds S&P 500 Sharia Industry Exclusions ETF (SPUS) are used to represent Halaf ETF. Similarly, iShares ESG Aware MSCI USA ETF (ESGU) and Vanguard ESG US Stock (ESGV) proxy the ESG index ETF. The daily price of these examined markets is considered from January 2, 2020, to January 18, 2024. The quantile vector autoregression is deployed for the empirical computation.
Findings
The result reveals that Memecoin (Dogecoin) emerges as the best diversifier irrespective of various quantiles because it is least connected in terms of recipient and transmission of shock. In addition, the authors observe an intriguing observation that the total connectedness in higher quantile is large, followed by lower quantile.
Originality/value
This study is undertaken considering the novelty in the form of the proxies of examined markets along with natural outbreak (COVID-19) and man-made outbreak (Russia–Ukraine invasion) periods.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to analyze the time-varying dynamic connectedness among environmental, social and governance (ESG)-compliant firms, Fintech-based firms and artificial intelligence (AI) firm’s stocks.
Design/methodology/approach
To examine the spillover from globally leading companies that systematically follow ESG reporting and standards into their financial books to top AI-based and Fintech-based companies, we use the daily observation extending from December 31, 2019 to October 9, 2023. For the empirical investigation, Diebold and Yilmaz (2012) model and Baruník and Křehlík (2018) model are employed.
Findings
An intriguing observation is found for both recipient and transmission as Northrop Grumman remains the least shock transmitter and receiver among all constituent markets irrespective of two different used models. On this note, Northrop Grumman can be classified among the safest stock comparatively which has to be held in short, medium and long run to mitigate the risk.
Originality/value
After extensive existing literature review and to the best of the authors knowledge, it is a novel study that examines the dynamic connectedness among ESG, Fintech and AI stocks covering two unprecedented events like the COVID-19 outbreak and the Russia–Ukraine invasion.
