Abstract
During the past decade, corporations have experienced a number of environmental “shocks” which have forced CEOs to examine the nature of their enterprises. Today, more so than ever before, executives are having to react to the concerns of various internal and external stakeholders. Among the key concerns of CEOs are: increased competition, especially at the global level, environmental issues (e.g. “green marketing”), and the demands of various stakeholder groups. The result of this new competitive environment is heightened pressure for businesses to perform.

Abstract
Purpose
The paper has two main purposes: to define and examine supplier oriented purchasing (SOP) as an effective relational exchange practice for organizational buyers and to empirically examine the degree to which supplier oriented purchasing can mediate the impact of manifest conflict on buyer‐supplier relationships.
Design/methodology/approach
A model is developed and tested examining the relationship among manifest conflict, relationship satisfaction and SOP. Data collection involved judgment sampling and survey methodology in a field setting using organizational buyers as subjects. Construct measures were based on existing measures and previous research. Measurement reliability and validity were established using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Hypotheses were tested using SEM and accepted methods for testing mediation effects.
Findings
All hypotheses were supported concerning SOP mediating the negative impact of manifest conflict on relationship satisfaction. Post hoc analyses of the effects of individual dimensions of supplier oriented purchasing revealed that communication had the strongest positive impact on relationship satisfaction.
Research limitations/implications
Sampling was regional in scope and included professional purchasing personnel across industry sectors. Data collection was cross‐sectional and future research would benefit from a longitudinal methodology. Additional directions for future research include using SOP in more complex models of relationship marketing to better understand the ability of SOP to mediate conflict.
Practical implications
Supplier oriented purchasing can be viable relational exchange practices for organizational buyers. The supplier oriented purchasing construct provides specific tactics across multiple dimensions of purchasing that buyers can use toward fostering effective relationships with key partners such as suppliers. In line with current research on relationship marketing, supplier oriented purchasing can have a significant role in mitigating and managing inter‐organizational conflict.
Originality/value
The study examines SOP, contributing to an under‐researched area of purchasing strategy and practice and supports that SOP mediates the negative effect of manifest conflict in buyer‐supplier relationships.

Abstract
Research has shown that young adults face strong economic burdens when it comes to establishing their intimate relationships in times of labor market deregulation and economic recession. However, little is known about possible protective effects of the transition to cohabitation on subjective worries. Based on economic and gender-specific assumptions, the present paper uses data from the German Socio-economic Panel (GSOEP) from 1991 to 2020. Longitudinal analyses show that the transition into cohabitation reduces the economic worries of German women, especially in times of macroeconomic crisis. For men, cohabitation is only protective against economic worries if they or their partner have high economic resources. The latter may indicate that young men in precarious living situations perceive the male breadwinner model as a subjective burden in the context of cohabitation.

Abstract
Purpose
The initial purpose of this study was to examine the educational needs and perceptions of students and clinicians in Canadian legal clinics.
Methodology/approach
The author conducted a literature review of leading educational materials in Canada and the United States focusing on required or preferred competencies for law students. The author then interviewed law students, clinicians, social workers, and community legal workers from across Ontario, Canada, all of whom were working or studying at law school-affiliated legal clinics. Interview subjects were asked a series of questions about their learning experiences in hopes of informing the creation of clinical teaching and learning materials.
Findings
The data revealed an under-reliance of the affective elements of teaching, learning, and practice in both existing literature and current teaching practices. The data also revealed deep structural divides between doctrinal and clinical teaching and learning approaches.
Originality/value
Without further integration between these two approaches, students and, ultimately, communities and clients will not reap the benefits possible from an integrated curriculum.

Abstract
Purpose
The success of last-mile delivery is dependent on consumer acceptance of such services, yet little is known about unattended delivery experience. This paper's purpose is to provide empirically based understanding of customer experience dimensions in unattended home delivery.
Design/methodology/approach
Using an engaged scholarship approach, this field study investigated nine households that actively used an unattended delivery service for a period of six to nine months. Empirical data were collected primarily from in-depth interviews.
Findings
The study demonstrates that unattended delivery experience is a multidimensional construct that comprises consumers' cognitive, emotional, behavioral, sensorial, physical and social responses to the service. The empirical evidence provides rich descriptions of each customer experience dimension, and the research offers a framework and propositions on unattended delivery experience.
Practical implications
The results guide and support managers in assessing and developing delivery services using a consumer-centric approach to enhance customer experience.
Originality/value
This research is one of the first to address unattended delivery experience by providing a comprehensive, empirically grounded framework. The results provide a foundation for future investigations of last-mile delivery experience dimensions.
