Abstract
Purpose: This study is the complex interplay among corporate social responsibility (CSR), governance, and ethics in the context of tourism management in India. It shows us how businesses engage in sustainable practices that contribute to social economics tourism.
Methodology: This research takes a multi-face approach, theoretical framework, and practice case study to indicate the relationship based on the CSR corporate governance, and business ethics. The study shows that the real case study in Jaipur and Indore.
Research limitations and implications: Given the limitations of the case study research, such as potential basis and limited generalization, this study is necessary for future empirical investigation to validate and expand upon the findings presented here.
Social implications: The chapter discusses the societal significance of business practices. It promotes greater corporate engagement in addressing social, environmental, and economic challenges by showing the positive impact of CSR initiatives on local communities.
Findings: Through case studies and empirical analysis, this chapter reveals how CSR initiatives can improve corporate governance, promote ethical business practices, and positively impact the local economy and environment. It also shows how important evidence-based decision-making matters.
Originality/value: In India's tourism management context, this chapter comprehensively examines corporate governance, business ethics, and CSR. Its usefulness provides practical insights into the practical ramifications of responsible business practices.

Abstract
This chapter discusses the findings of doctoral research into further education lecturers' and middle managers' perceptions of how Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the sector is planned and implemented. Thematic analysis revealed that mandatory CPD is perceived to: involve conflicting purposes between those planning it and its recipients (deriving from divergent understandings of professionalism and the role of CPD among stakeholders); and be characterised as mostly generic, didactic, and ineffective, leading lecturers to compensate by engaging in additional, separate forms of CPD. This chapter demonstrates the value of practice-based doctoral study in enabling the voices of educators to be positioned at the centre of an exploration of their own professional learning.

Abstract
Purpose
Whenever social injustice tackled by social movements receives heightened media attention, charitable crowdfunding platforms offer an opportunity to proactively advocate for equality by donating money to affected people. This research examines how the Black Lives Matter movement and the associated social protest cycle after the death of George Floyd have influenced donation behavior for campaigns with a personal goal and those with a societal goal supporting the black community.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper follows a quantitative research approach by applying a quasi-experimental research design on a GoFundMe dataset. In total, 67,905 campaigns and 1,362,499 individual donations were analyzed.
Findings
We uncover a rise in donations for campaigns supporting the black community, which lasts substantially longer for campaigns with a societal than with a personal funding goal. Informed by construal level theory, we attribute this heterogeneity to changes in the level of abstractness of the problems that social movements aim to tackle.
Originality/value
This research advances the knowledge of individual donation behavior in charitable crowdfunding. Our results highlight the important role that charitable crowdfunding campaigns play in promoting social justice and anti-discrimination as part of social protest cycles.

Abstract
Although large-scale construction projects can stimulate economic development, they can also cause unanticipated environmental stress. In addition, there are indications that such projects can collide with local cultural structures and create negative social impacts. With a focus on Building with Nature – an initiative towards sustainable hydraulic engineering – this chapter illustrates how nature conservation can be integrated into the daily operation of large-scale construction projects. Also, some insights are presented on the effects of voluntary green behaviour, particularly about challenges and benefits associated with enforcing corporate responsibility. The chapter concludes with a discussion on the role of integrative systematic approaches in analysing the complexity related to multi-stakeholder involvement for the embodiment of SDG14 Life Below Water. Also, some arguments are provided on the value of intergenerational knowledge exchange – linking expertise and experience of industry representatives with innovative concepts from higher education actors – for realising goals linked to sustainable development embracing future generations.

Abstract
Purpose
This study examines the link between the knowledge creation process, ambidextrous innovation, and competitive advantage. Further, this study also tested the moderating role of organizational agility on the relationship between the knowledge creation process and ambidextrous innovation.
Design/methodology/approach
The empirical study’s data were collected by surveying 306 respondents employed in 140 Pakistani Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The questionnaire was designed according to the study’s requirements and was based on theoretical knowledge and findings from previous research on the knowledge-creation process, ambidextrous innovation, and competitive advantage. All hypotheses were tested using a structured regression method.
Findings
The study indicates that the knowledge creation process significantly impacts a firm’s competitive advantage. Additionally, this study demonstrates that ambidextrous innovation can moderate the relationship between the knowledge-creation process and competitive advantage.
Research limitations/implications
Future studies should examine mediating factors, such as organizational culture, leadership style, and industry characteristics, as well as moderating variables, such as environmental turbulence.
Practical implications
This study guides SME leaders on the importance of knowledge creation and ambidextrous innovation in achieving operational success and gaining a competitive advantage.
Originality/value
This study explores how the knowledge creation process directly and indirectly, enhances organizational capacity for competitive advantage through the mediating roles of ambidextrous innovation and the moderating role of organizational agility.

Abstract
Purpose
Early termination of public–private partnerships (PPPs) in China is caused by various risk factors, resulting in significant losses. This study aimed to clarify the key factors and identify the causal relationships among these factors.
Design/methodology/approach
Social network analysis (SNA) was used to analyze 37 risk factors that were summarized from 97 early terminated PPP cases and to identify the relationships among these key risk factors. Interpretive structural modeling (ISM) was conducted to explore the causal relationships. Data were collected from case documents, questionnaires and interviews.
Findings
A total of 17 key risk factors were identified and distributed in a hierarchical structure with six tiers. Among these key risk factors, the root causes affecting the early termination of PPP projects were government oversight in decision-making, local government transition, policy and law changes and force majeure. The direct cause was insufficient returns. Furthermore, local government and private sector defaults were essential mediating factors. Local government transition and the low willingness of the private sector were highlighted as potential key risks.
Research limitations/implications
The cases and experts were all from China, and outcomes in other countries or cultures may differ from those of this study. Therefore, further studies are required.
Practical implications
This research provides knowledge regarding the key risk factors leading to the early termination of PPP projects and guidance on avoiding these factors and blocking the factors' transmission in the project lifecycle.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the knowledge of risk management by emphasizing the importance of local government transition, the low willingness of the private sector and project cooperation and operation, whose significance is ignored in the existing literature. The proposed ISM clarifies the role of risk factors in causing early termination and explains their transmission patterns.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to look at the implementation of project-funded research governance and its potential to induce organisational learning on responsible research and innovation (RRI). This paper analysed what types of organisational learning and change can take place within organisations of an Europe-funded project and to what extent. This paper examined whether and how change occurs and how it is shaped and co-produced with other orderings.
Design/methodology/approach
The paper is based on materials and evidence collected while working on the internal evaluation of a Horizon 2020-funded project. Analysis of the results of the mixed methods evaluation design was used to characterise occurrences of organisational learning and change.
Findings
The authors identified different forms of learning (single-loop learning, double-loop learning, reflexive and reflective learning and situational learning). The extent of learning that could lead to long-lasting organisational change was limited. This was due to the project-based and organisational design, the key-based definition of RRI and the indeterminacy of what constitutes learning and change – both at the level of funding and performing the project. For organisational change to occur, the authors argue for governance mechanisms based on reflexive learning that consider a range of structural conditions and measures.
Originality/value
Organisational learning plays an important role in change processes, which has so far been given too little consideration concerning the governance and implementation of RRI through project-based funding. The authors argue for a restructuring of governance and funding mechanisms to create more space for reflexivity and learning.

Abstract
In the global food processing industry, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is garnering increasing attention from companies, employees, consumers, and regulatory bodies. The purpose of this chapter is to identify areas insufficiently addressed in the existing literature, yet significant and specific to the food processing sector, and those exerting the greatest impact on global society. CSR initiatives in the global food industry are diverse, and companies in the food sector are increasingly recognizing the importance of CSR not only for ethical reasons but also to enhance competitiveness, consumer trust, and overall sustainable business development, including mitigating risks associated with the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) area. The methodology used includes a literature review and a critical analysis of the scientific literature. The research question identified by the author is: “Whether and why CSR is important in the global food processing industry from various perspectives and what key aspects require further analysis and research in this field?” Two hypotheses were delineated: H1: *CSR is of paramount importance and possesses a vast scope of influence in the global food industry and H2: *Need for further analysis of key CSR aspects in the food industry. To identify research areas of focus, the Scopus database was utilized. Due to insufficient literature, this chapter was enriched with additional sources of scientific literature. Stakeholder engagement, transparency, and compliance with standards are vital for effective CSR implementation. The role of independent verification and consumer awareness in enhancing companies’ legitimacy lacks research. Insufficiently explored are also tools for all market participants to curb harmful practices and promote healthy competition and development on the market.
