Abstract
Purpose
This investigation endeavors to explore the impact of Psychological Capital (PsyCap) on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) within the confines of Pakistan’s information technology (IT) sector. It leverages the concepts of team engagement (TE) as a mediating variable and team cohesion (TC) as a moderating variable to investigate the dynamics between these constructs. This study aims to enrich the existing body of literature by offering sophisticated insights into the critical roles played by PsyCap in promoting OCB, viewed through the prisms of TE and TC.
Design/methodology/approach
This scholarly investigation employed a quantitative methodology complemented by a cross-sectional survey encompassing 243 active participants within the IT sector. The research methodology incorporated confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling to rigorously test hypotheses concerning OCB’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s IT industry. The analytical process was greatly enhanced through the application of SPSS software, version 27, and AMOS software, version 23, enabling the construction of a comprehensive structural equation model alongside detailed path analysis. The study adopted a time-lagged data collection strategy to address and minimize the potential distortions introduced by common method bias.
Findings
The investigation outcomes delineate a significant association between the fulfillment of fundamental human necessities and the augmentation of PsyCap, alongside an increase in self-autonomous actions. This, in turn, fosters an improvement in OCB. The discourse within the manuscript accentuates the pivotal role of managerial practices and the work environment in catering to basic needs, thereby facilitating the cultivation of PsyCap resources. Furthermore, the research elucidates that TE serves as a pivotal mediating factor that bridges PsyCap and OCB, highlighting its complementary role in enhancing organizational behavior.
Originality/value
The current inquiry significantly contributes to the existing scholarly discourse by elucidating the dynamics between PsyCap, TE, TC and OCB. Moreover, this study explores TE’s mediating role specifically within the context of Pakistan’s IT sector. By employing the theoretical framework of self-determination theory, this investigation not only deepens the theoretical underpinnings but also furnishes pragmatic insights for IT organizations, thereby marking a notable advancement in the realm of organizational behavior and psychology.

Purpose
This study explores the effect of inclusive leadership (IL) on organizational commitment (OC) in Pakistan’s telecom sector. Psychological safety (PS) and perceived organizational support (POS) are taken as mediators to explore the interplay of the constructs. The study aims to contribute to the existing literature by providing insights into the critical role of inclusive IL impacting OC through PS and POS as mediators.
Design/methodology/approach
This study uses a quantitative methodology and a cross-sectional survey of 289 employees of the telecom sector working in the front office dealing with customer services. Using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, the study tests hypotheses on the critical role of OC in Pakistan’s telecom sector. With the aid of SPSS v27 and AMOS v23 for structural equation model construction and path analysis, a time-lagged data collection method was used to avoid common method bias.
Findings
According to the research paper’s findings, evidence supports the hypotheses, suggesting that IL has a positive direct and indirect impact on OC via PS and POS.
Originality/value
This study adds to the existing body of knowledge on IL, PS, POS and OC. This study also tests the mediating role of PS and POS in Pakistan’s telecom sector’s service domain. This research also provides practical implications for leaders and employees concerning PS and POS in the specific context of Pakistan’s society.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to develop a neurocomputational approach using the Levenberg–Marquardt artificial neural network (LM-ANN) to analyze flow and heat transfer characteristics in mixed convection involving radiative magnetohydrodynamic hybrid nanofluids. The focus is on the influence of morphological nanolayers at the fluid–nanoparticle interface, which significantly impacts coupled heat and mass transfer processes.
Design/methodology/approach
This research simplifies a complex system of higher-order nonlinear coupled partial differential equations governing the flow between orthogonal coaxially porous disks into ordinary differential equations via similarity transformations. These equations are solved using the shooting method, and parametric studies are conducted to observe the impact of varying important parameters. The resulting data sets are used to train, validate and test the LM-ANN model, which ensures high predictive accuracy. Machine learning and curve-fitting techniques further enhance the model’s capability to generate detailed visualizations.
Findings
The findings of this study indicate that increased nanolayer thickness (0.4–1.6) significantly improves thermal performance, while changes in the chemical reaction parameter (0.2–1) have a notable effect on enhancing the Sherwood number. These results highlight the critical role of morphological nanolayers in optimizing thermal and mass transfer efficiency in MHD nanofluids.
Originality/value
This research provides a novel neurocomputational framework for understanding the thermal and mass transfer dynamics in MHD nanofluids by incorporating the effects of interfacial nanolayers, an aspect often overlooked in conventional studies. The use of LM-ANN trained on computational data sets enables high-fidelity predictive analysis, offering new insights into the enhancement of thermal and mass transfer efficiency in hybrid nanofluid systems.

Purpose
Work overload implies that there are excessive work demands that cannot be adequately fulfilled within the given deadlines. This research examines the effect of work overload on career outcomes, i.e. career satisfaction and occupational commitment through the mediating role of work frustration.
Design/methodology/approach
The data were collected from employees working in the schools of Punjab, Pakistan in three waves. Out of the total, 248 valid responses were analyzed by PROCESS model 4 using SPSS 24.
Findings
Based on affective event theory (AET) the results demonstrated that negative workplace events such as work overload create negative emotions like frustration at work and cause poor job outcomes (i.e. low satisfaction and commitment).
Research limitations/implications
However, the outcomes should be interpreted in the light of single sector and time-lagged data tested on the mediation-only model.
Practical implications
The current study has implications for workload management in school staff to retain their career satisfaction and commitment.
Social implications
This study has implications for society by offering to enhance the career outcomes of school staff that are prime institutions for socio-economic development.
Originality/value
This is one of the initial research studies that have examined the career-related outcomes of work overload based on AET via the mediating role of work frustration.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to examine the dynamic effect of FinTech on financial stability, with the moderating role of green finance (GF), its dimensions and mechanisms in the context of the spillover effects of the COVID-19 shock. This study used balanced panel data from 148 countries, including 76 developed and 72 emerging nations, from 2005 to 2022.
Design/methodology/approach
The research utilized the dynamic two-step system (GMM), and robustness was performed with the bootstrapped panel quantile regression.
Findings
The findings reveal that FinTech significantly affects financial stability across the entire sample. The overall composite of GF boosts financial stability by improving financial soundness. The GF dimensions, such as environmental, resource and financial, positively influence FS, while the GF economic dimension hurts FS. The moderating role and all interaction terms of GF dimensions with FinTech contribute positively and significantly to FS. While the interaction term GF resources with FinTech negatively impacts FS, indicating that countries should utilize resources more efficiently. Additionally, the COVID-19 spillover effect negatively influences FS across all samples. In advanced countries, FinTech and green finance positively affect FS. In emerging countries, green finance (except for the resource dimension) and FinTech interactions enhance financial stability, (except for the environmental dimension), leading to environmental hazards from their highly intensive industrial carbon policies.
Practical implications
The findings suggest that policymakers should prioritize promoting the adoption of initiatives related to FinTech and green finance by integrating sustainable transition finance policy frameworks to maintain stability and foster low-carbon economies for a sustainable future.
Social implications
Improved financial stability has more significant social effects, such as better investment instruments, confidence and economic growth. Policymakers can leverage these findings to establish resilient financial ecosystems, fostering sustainable economic development and decreasing the risk of financial crises.
Originality/value
This study offers novel insights into how FinTech and multi-dimensional green finance effect financial stability in advanced and emerging nations. It provides unique insights into context-specific dynamics and enhances the literature on financial stability.

Purpose
This research aims to determine how abusive leadership negatively affects knowledge workers' productivity and its potential influence on digital innovation. The present study also explores the mediating role of a knowledge worker’s competence between abusive leadership and knowledge worker productivity.
Design/methodology/approach
The study employed a quantitative research approach. Data were gathered through purposive sampling using 255 questionnaires completed by IT industry knowledge workers in Pakistan. The data were analyzed using the SMART-PLS 4.0 software.
Findings
The findings demonstrated a negative correlation between abusive leadership and knowledge worker productivity. Additionally, the relationship was partially mediated by knowledge worker competence. Furthermore, the study asserts that knowledge worker productivity has a substantial positive impact on digital innovation.
Originality/value
This study contributes substantially to the existing body of evidence on the productivity of knowledge workers and digital innovation by examining the interlocking effects of abusive leadership. It also implies the interpersonal mechanism of employee competence that connects abusive leadership with the productivity of knowledge workers and digital innovation. Thus, this study is one of the first inquiries to analyze this paradigm.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyze the effect of dividend policy on shareholders’ wealth in Shariah-compliant (SC) and noncompliant (NC) nonfinancial firms in Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
All the nonfinancial firms listed on the Pakistan stock exchange have been taken as a sample for 2016–2021. The Karachi Meezan index screening criteria were applied to screen SC firms. Based on the BPLM and Hausman test results, the authors used the fixed-effect and pooled OLS model for SC and NC firms, respectively. The F-test was used to compare the effect of each dividend policy variable on shareholders’ wealth for both firm types.
Findings
The findings reveal that the dividend policy does affect the shareholders’ wealth in both firm types. Dividend per share (DPS), dividend yield (DY) and earnings per share significantly affect the shareholders’ wealth in SC firms. For NC firms, the dividend payout, DPS and DY are critical. Moreover, the F-test results show that the DPS, DY and leverage effect on the shareholders’ wealth significantly differ for both firm types.
Research limitations/implications
This study fills the research gap in the Pakistani context specifically as well as globally by providing important insights into the relationship between a firm’s dividend policy and shareholders’ wealth for SC and NC firms. In addition, this study comprehensively compares the results for both firm types, which is also lacking in the existing literature. Because this study is based in Pakistan, the generalizability of the results would be limited.
Practical implications
The findings of this study are helpful for the management of SC and NC firms in devising their dividend policies that can maximize their shareholders’ wealth. This study also provides guidance and knowledge to investors in choosing companies for their investments that can maximize their wealth.
Originality/value
To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first study that analyzes the relationship between dividend policy and shareholders’ wealth for SC firms in Pakistan. It is also the first study that comprehensively compares the dividend policy relationship with shareholders’ wealth for SC and NC firms. In addition, using the F-test for joint hypotheses to compare the specific effect of each dividend policy variable is a methodological contribution of the study.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to assess the information-seeking behaviors, attitudes and beliefs about pregnancy-related nutrition, food-related myths and taboos and supplementation among pregnant women in different communities of Pakistan.
Design/methodology/approach
A cross-sectional quantitative survey method was used in this study, which included 150 pregnant women from various locations in Lahore and Faisalabad.
Findings
Most participants were between the ages of 25 and 29, having 14 years of education. Regardless of age or number of children, all selected women had the same dietary awareness. Regarding myths and taboos, highly significant values (p = 0.001) were found in various studied variables. No significant difference was observed in knowledge level between age and number of children. It was observed that food myths and taboos significantly (p = 0.001) impact pregnant women’s dietary choices.
Research limitations/implications
This survey experienced limited representativeness; many participants provided incomplete food and nutritional information. This research was conducted in two major districts of Pakistan, i.e. Lahore and Faisalabad; therefore, the results can be generalized for a population of pregnant women living in the northeastern region of Pakistan.
Practical implications
This study can provide helpful insight for health-care professionals to improve pregnant women’s nutritional status and knowledge.
Social implications
The outcomes of this study can help guide how pregnant women might be educated and have better nutritional awareness at domestic and professional levels.
Originality/value
In Pakistan, there is a lack of research on pregnant women’s nutritional knowledge, and this research can assist health-care professionals in providing diversified knowledge to promote maternal health.

Abstract
Purpose
Based on the ability-motivation-opportunity (AMO) framework, this paper develops and tests a moderated mediation model to investigate how and when green high-performance work systems (GHPWS) lead to green service innovation (GSI). For this purpose, the current study examines the mediating role of decent work (DW) and the moderating role of climate change skepticism (CSS) in the relationship between GHPWS and GSI.
Design/methodology/approach
Overall data collected from 262 Pakistan banking employees analyzed through the SPSS PROCESS macro supports this model.
Findings
Findings suggest that GHWPS increased GSI through DW. The positive effect of DW on GSI was particularly high for the employees with low CCS.
Research limitations/implications
Theoretically, this study expands knowledge in sustainable business practices and human resource management. Practically, it offers organizations strategies to integrate sustainability into their operations. This study implies that human resource management must be realigned with the overall organizational sustainability strategy to adopt environmental innovations. Along with the commercial and economic outcomes, this research has implications for public policy by advocating for practices that support environmental sustainability and DW. Societally, it promotes awareness of the importance of sustainability in business, which has a potential ripple effect on public attitudes and improves quality of life through environmental preservation.
Originality/value
This study provides unique insights into the employees’ doubts about anthropogenic climate change and the importance of organizations implementing GHPWS toward cultivating DW and GSI in the context of developing countries.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to focus on analysing the impact of green human resource management (GHRM) on the green performance (GP) of Spanish wineries, as well as the mediating effect of employee well-being (EW) on this linkage. In addition, age, size and membership in a protected designation of origin are introduced as control variables to increase the precision of the cause-effect relationships examined.
Design/methodology/approach
The study proposes a conceptual model based on previous studies, which is tested using structural equations partial least squares structural equation modelling with data collected from 196 Spanish wineries between September 2022 and January 2023.
Findings
The findings of the research reveal the existence of a positive and significant relationship between the GHRM development and the GP of Spanish wineries, as well as the partial mediation of EW in this association.
Originality/value
The uniqueness and significance of this study can be attributed to several crucial factors. First, it enhances the understanding and knowledge regarding the advantages associated with GHRM development. Second, no prior research has conducted a comprehensive study on GHRM as a catalyst for GP within the context of Spanish wineries. Third, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, no previous study has analyzed the mediating role of EW as a mediator in the relationship between GHRM and GP of wineries.
