The phoenix|X-ray® group has closed the year 2005 with a record turnover. With a company group turnover of 26 million € the leading manufacturer of microfocus- and nanofocus® X-ray systems, X-ray tubes and CT-systems for non-destructive testing clearly surpassed the results of 2004.
At the same time, important steps were taken in order to allow for further growth; among other things, construction of phoenix|X-ray's® new production facility was completed. In this spacious (3500 m2), state-of-the-art facility, phoenix|X-ray® will continue to manufacture its wide range of products, applying the same high quality standards it is renowned for.
Furthermore, phoenix|X-ray® has extended its range of industrial services: in Munich, a new phoenixjX- ray® application laboratory is already open and another one is scheduled to open in Paris this year. Great emphasis will also be put on the American market with a new application lab coming to Florida this year.
The novel product developments were presented to the public during several international trade shows. The newest product is the sub-micron high-resolution X-ray inspection system micromejx, especially designed for the 2D non- destructive testing of printed board assemblies. The system is equipped with a 2 Megapixels camera as well as a 160 or 180 kV microfocus- tube and offers detail detectability of <1 μm.
Furthermore, in response to increasingly complex inspection needs, which can no longer be meet by standard, 2D X-ray systems, phoenix|X-ray® now proudly presents a novel computed tomography system – the nanotom®.
With the 160 kV microfocus tube and a detail detectability of <0.5 μm, the nanotom® is the first nanofocus®-CT- system created for use in material science, micromechanics, biology and many other industries. In order to allow for highly precise measurement and CAD-Data-Comparison of assemblies, the nanotom® extracts the surface data from the calculated volume data, the prerequisite for “reverse engineering”. These novel developments show the high technological standard of phoenix|X-ray® systems as well as phoenix|X-ray® power of innovation.
Important contribution to phoenixjX- ray's® success was made by the company's team of more than 80 employees, which was joined by another 15 highly qualified employees last year.
The management expect the group to be even more successful in 2006, with the company offering more industrial services as well as, the usual, high phoenix|X-ray® product quality (Plate 4).
