CEOs need to understand their role in programme and project management
Article Type: Abstract From: Strategic Direction, Volume 27, Issue 10
Harpham A.Project Manager Today, 2011, Vol. 23 No. 3, Start page: 14, No of pages: 2
Offers the views of Alan Harpham, Chairman of AMPG, on how there is a need for chief executive officers (CEOs) to understand programme and project management if they are to gain control over their investments and transform their organizations. Argues that CEOs are interested in outcomes that will deliver the organization’s strategy, but all too often, using straightforward project management can lead CEOs to find themselves in a blind spot after accepting the business case and giving the go-ahead for programmes and projects. Concludes that good project management provides the joining link between business strategy and the projects being undertaken.Article type: ViewpointISSN: 1366-6851Reference: 40AL046
