KBA introduces climate impact “ready reckoner for printers
Article Type: New products From: Pigment & Resin Technology, Volume 40, Issue 1
KBA has announced the result of its collaboration with climate protection consultancy ClimatePartner: an online “ready reckoner” to calculate the impact of a printer’s business on the environment by measuring greenhouse gas emissions.
The service allows printers to “accurately and reliably identify the amount of greenhouse gas emissions being generated by their production runs,” said KBA UK Managing Director Christian Knapp. “They can then offset their carbon through participation in certified climate protection projects, or their customers can incorporate the carbon footprint of their work into their own climate-neutral initiatives.”
The new service is an addition to KBA’s sustainable production offerings, which also cover its energy-efficient printing equipment and a commitment to waterless offset printing, plus help in selecting the best printing substrate and finishing processes for environmental protection.
