RUCO Printing Inks offers solutions for the tobacco industry

Article Type: Industry news From: Pigment

At the recent TABEXPO 2007 in Paris, RUCO Printing Inks presented its wide range of printing inks and lacquer systems for the tobacco industry. As one of the leading manufacturers of specialty inks for tipping and cigarette papers, the company is listed with all major tobacco companies worldwide. In Paris it was mainly printing inks for cigarette packaging, including folding boxes, film wrapping, cardboard, etc. that attracted the attention of the expert public.

The product highlights displayed included RUCO's water-based W-T and WD-T series which can be used both in gravure and flexographic printing. The scratch- and rub-resistant inks are free from organic solvents and offer high-color strength and brilliance as well as high resistance to adhesive tapes. While W-T inks are suitable for coated and uncoated paper and cardboard, the WD-T series has been designed specifically for use on PE/PP films.

The solvent-based N-T and VTS series are also suitable both for gravure and flexographic printing. They are resistant to adhesive tape as well as scratch- and rub-resistant and can be used for high-speed decoration of PE/ PP film packaging. In addition, N-T inks can also be printed on paper, special paper and cardboard.

Having 150 years experience in ink production and worldwide acceptance of its product portfolio, RUCO took the TABEXPO as an opportunity to further increase the awareness for its products and further consolidated its position in the tobacco market.
