Noveon acquires Flint Ink overprint-coatings assets

Noveon Inc. has acquired certain water-based overprint-coatings technology and manufacturing assets from Flint Ink Corp. as part of Noveon’s strategy to expand its performance coatings graphic arts product lines. Terms were not disclosed. The acquisition includes Flint Ink’s water-based formulations with the exception of MVTR, tobacco and security coatings.

“The graphic arts industry is very important to Noveon and this acquisition strengthens our capability to serve customers in North America,” said Steve Demetriou, Noveon President and CEO.

Flint Ink, based in Ann Arbor, MI, is the largest American-owned ink manufacturer and supplies inks used in printing and packaging applications worldwide.
