Head of Automotive Refinish Business
Jacques Delmoitiez, group vice president, Global Business Unit Performance Chemicals for Coatings, Plastics & Specialties, BASF Aktiengesellschaft, Ludwigshafen, Germany, recently took charge of the Automotive Refinish business unit of BASF Coatings AG. At the same time, he will be appointed managing director of BASF Coatings S.A., based in Clermont, France.
Jacques was born in Offenbach, Germany, in 1953. He studied economics at the FUCAM University in Mons, Belgium, from which he graduated with a Master's degree in commercial engineering in 1975. After an initial career in the Belgian chemicals and coatings sector he joined BASF in Belgium in 1984. In 1986, he changed to BASF Coatings AG, then called BASF Lacke + Farben AG, and was in charge of different tasks within the automotive refinish business. In 1991, he was appointed vice president of the European R-M brand automotive refinish business.
From 1998, he was group vice president of the global pigments marketing unit of BASF AG. In 2001, he was appointed head of the Global Business Unit Performance Chemicals for Coatings, Plastics and Specialities. He will be in charge of the Automotive Refinish business unit of BASF Coatings AG and at the same time head of BASF Coatings S.A., based in Clermont, France.
