Low-cost, low maintenance SF pumps

Keywords: Pumps, Cost

Netzsch Pumps has introduced a range of feed pumps for conveying highly viscous, dry and non-flowing products from 0 to 290 M3/h with differential pressures from 0 to 24bar (Plate 6).

The new SF range now incorporates NEMO pumps that are said to pump and dose more efficiently, deliver more gently, operate more effectively and are easier to service.

By force filling the open rotor/stator chambers continuously, the large feeding screw is said to be able to pump products that are not capable of flowing and prevent product from lining the inside of the pump body. This reportedly increases capacity to 50 per cent more than the standard feed screw design.

According to Netzsch, with the installation of a bridge breaker or mixing paddle to crash the solid particles, even filter cakes from chamber filter presses can be easily pumped through the SF model.

Friction losses in the pump's discharge pipes can reportedly be reduced, by spraying lubricant onto the inner walls using a small dosing pump. SF pumps can also be equipped with dry running and over pressure protection.
