Global Chemical Data Exchange launched
The Bivings Group (TBG) report the launch of its latest chemical industry communications and research tool, the Global Chemical Data Exchange (GCDX).
Developed in close collaboration with representatives from the chemical industry working to meet HPV and REACH testing goals, the Web-based Global Chemical Data Exchange is thought to virtually insure co-ordination of upcoming year 2004 compliance documents for the required ICCA, US EPA and European Commission chemical screening assessment guidelines.
Described as a cost- and time-effective alternative to international meetings, conference calls and faxes, the GCDX provides an online system for research and discussion of HPV and REACH and other regulatory reporting requirements. GCDX members have private and secure access to research, comment forums, guidance documents and reporting status 24 hours a day from any Internet connection in the world. The GCDX also offers users the ability to immediately post, edit and discuss documents without e-mail security issues or time constraints.
Industry response to the Global Chemical Data Exchange has been enthusiastic. "The Euro Chlor Science Steering Committee recognises the benefit of the GCDX as a tool to documents and research information among and within regions," says Veronique Gamy, Science manager of Brussels-based Euro Chlor.
An in-depth discussion of the features and benefits of the Global Chemical Data Exchange is available on the Web at http://www.gcdxinfo.org .
