Keywords: Moss, Masking

In response to the finishing industry's growing demand for multiple use masking products Moss Plastic Parts has introduced a complete new range of high temperature cone caps/plugs manufactured in silicone rubber (Plate 2). Moss reports that its cone caps/plugs can perform a dual role both as a flanged cap to mask exposed studs, or as a plug to mask holes, where they can also fulfil a valuable secondary function as an attachment point for painting hooks.

According to Moss, the use of silicone rubber provides its cone caps/plugs with maximum resistance to aggressive solutions combined with the capability to withstand continuous temperatures up to 200°C and intermittent temperatures up to 300°C. This is believed to make them ideally suited for use in a variety of high temperature finishing applications such as powder coating, plating, paint spraying and anodizing.

Moss cone caps/plugs are immediately available from stock in a range of six colour coded sizes which can be used to protect either studs from 2mm up to 12mm in diameter, or holes from 5mm up to 17mm. The four smaller sizes are supplied in bag quantities of 1,000, while the two larger sizes are supplied in bags of 200.
