Disposable cuvettes for Malvern Zetasizer
Disposable cuvettes for Malvern Zetasizer
Keywords: Malvern, Measurement
Malvern Instruments has introduced a new disposable sample cuvette for its Zetasizer systems. The new cuvette allows particle size measurements to be made using sample volumes as low as 0.3ml, and for the Zetasizer 1000 and 3000 systems, an insert provided to raise the cuvettes further reduces the required sample volume to 0.1ml.
The cuvettes will be especially useful in conjunction with the new Zetasizer 1000HS and Zetasizer 3000HS systems which provide high sensitivity measurement of particle size down to 2nm using a standard 10mW laser. Small partides, dilute systems and poorly scattering materials can now reportedly be measured without resorting to high power laser sources which can both affect the sample due to excessive heating, and are expensive to buy and maintain.
The disposable cuvettes are made from standard polystyrene, so are suitable for use with all dispersants that are compatible with this material. They are available in packs of 100 and come with 10 caps, a volume reducing insert and an insert removal tool.
