Sticky end for insects

Insectron have introduced a new, improved control of flying insects in food processing sites. It consists of an adhesive board which is reversible and is based on research looking at the effect of ultraviolet reflective patterns on the landing behaviour of insects. On one side the boards are printed with brown and yellow diagonal stripes which attract flies while the reverse has a pattern of black and white concentric circles to attract wasps. While the boards provide a strong attraction for insects, the special adhesive used on the boards ensure that once there the insects are trapped and retained. The boards provide a valuable means of monitoring numbers and species of insects present with significant increases in kill numbers providing an early warning of a possible infestation problem. The Insectron units are effective over areas up to 400m2. They feature stainless steel construction and IP54 rated splash-proof as standard and come with a five-year guarantee. They can be used in areas sensitive to dust explosion and can withstand hosing. For further information, contact: Chris Spark, Igrox Limited. Tel: 01728 628424.
