This is clearly labelled as a "primer on the leading-edge Internet application areas" and "key information policy issues". In 200 pages of a magazine-sized book (but with large type and abundant spacing), the authors cover management of the Internet, censorship issues, privacy and security, information quality, commerce, and distance education. A final section on emerging technologies provides a very brief overview of streaming audio and video.
As a primer (possibly as a means of designing Internet-related courses) it has some use, but there's little depth on any issue and the information is already out of date. On balance, you'd be better off spending your money elsewhere.
