Waukesha Bearings has published a new brochure covering its compact equalized CQ range of modular tilling pad thrust bearings. The axial length of these bearings is typically 35 per cent less than the traditional design whilst maintaining full load carrying capacity. This enables the machine designer to benefit from a significant reduction in the space required by the bearing and on the overall length of the machine rotor. These bearings meet all industry standards including API (Plates 6-8).

The CQ range is truly modular for maximum flexibility. Standard components are assembled into optimum combinations of pad size and pad quantity in a ring. The pads are identical and interchangeable regardless of pivot position. Centrally pivoted pads have equal load capability in either direction of rotation.

These bearings are normally supplied with directed lubrication, the longest established high speed lubrication system. Directed Lubrication enables bearings to support higher loads with lower power losses and temperatures at higher speeds. Bi-directional rotation at full rated load is safe with directed lubrication. It has become the industry standard for high performance machinery.
