"Miracle" lubricant from Canada

Keyword: Lubricant

Can-Lube, a new product from Laser Blade Systems Inc. is taking the British Columbian sawmill industry by storm. This revolutionary discovery will replace conventional oil-based lubricants that in the past have been the only alternative to the lubricating and cooling needs of edger operation. The new fluid is water soluble, non-toxic, cleaner to use and more cost effective. Can-Lube is the environmental answer to the potential problem of ground and surface water contamination.

In simple terms, Can-Lube actually makes ordinary water "slippery" by altering its molecular characteristics. Preliminary testing has shown that Can-Lube outperforms oil by allowing the saw blades to hydroplane between the guides. Water consumed is drastically less (up to 75 per cent). Can-Lube is also demonstrating some other remarkable benefits. Users report deviation reduction (thus reduction in target size), noise reduction and massively reduced thermal (friction) buildup. The sawdust produced is clean and dry. The wood finish is extremely smooth as though already planed.
