As we go to press, John Prescott has recently announced the proposals for an integrated transport policy.

While the debates will continue to rage on the best way of achieving the objectives, and there are already many objections to the proposals, there can be no doubt that the progressive implementation of at least some of the proposals will have consequences on the nature and volume of automotive lubricants.
