Instrumentation Product of the Year - Danfloss MASSFLO wins national accolade

Instrumentation Product of the Year Danfloss MASSFLO wins national accolade

Danfoss Limited has won the coveted "Instrumentation Product of the Year" title at the MIAA for its 1.5mm Coriolis MASSFLO mass flowmeter. The Manufacturing Industry Achievement Awards are supported by all relevant Miller Freeman manufacturing magazines.

Highlighting some of the reasons why the Danfoss flowmeter won the prestigious title, the MIAA official report commented: "Claims of a cut in mass flow rate down to 25 grammes per hour wins the instrumentation category for Danfoss' MASSFLO Coriolis mass flowmeter. Previous bests have been around 2 grammes per minute."

The report goes on to describe the 1.5mm MASSFLO as being "available in stainless steel and Hastelloy C and is for dosing and other applications dealing with high value or corrosive products".

It also adds that "it is approved to EEx in IIC T4-T6 as standard and, says Danfoss, it is the lightest and smallest flowmeter it has ever produced. Accuracy of ±0.15 per cent is claimed and a dosing rate of between 64,000 and 25 grammes. Coupled to a multi-parameter signal converter, this flowmeter can measure density, fraction flow and temperature in addition to mass flow. It also provides maximum possible immunity to all external vibrations".

To allow its use by OEMs, especially in areas of congested pipework, the MASSFLO has mountings with the measuring pipe coiled inside a compact high integrity secondary casing. As a single unit, it can be cleaned in place. It is also free from welds or crevices that could harbour potential contaminations and has an IP65 enclosure as standards.
