A coating for gravity diecasters to economically produce consistent castings with improved surface finish has been launched by Fenco-Aldridge.
Fencoat 300, the latest addition to the Lo-Smoke range, has been specifically designed for gravity diecasting combining reliable coating properties and with excellent diecasting characteristics.
Sales Director, Simon Hinson, pointed out that Fencoat 300 was developed to allow ease of application and versatility in the gravity diecasting foundry. "Our unrivalled expertise and understanding of the gravity diecasting process enabled us to produce a new product aimed at optimum performance and economy in use" he said.
The white, water-based ceramic coating provides excellent green strength and die adhesion on drying as well as impressive insulating properties. Minimal need for reapplication during the casting process, coupled with its dilution with water to allow a variety of application methods, means enhanced economy.
Small particle size ensures good, consistent surface finish and the coating can be removed from the die by shotblasting.
