Accepts that many employees want to bring their mobile personal ICT devices to work, and that organizations must bow to the inevitable and support a range of company and personal devices accessing both enterprise and consumer applications. Explains that, for many organizations the question is this whether the network ready to accommodate both additional mobile users and the multitude of devices they bring with them. Argues that charting a path for mobility development that aligns user needs with strategic business priorities, all without disrupting production or innovation, can be daunting, and companies struggle greatly to close the gap between what users expect from the mobile experience and what businesses can realistically deliver while still ensuring scalability, reliability and security. Concludes that how the enterprise executes the most effective mobile strategy that will meet user expectations and minimize risk involves three fundamental challenges: adapting applications for a cross-platform environment; device and data management, including security; and expense management. Addresses these challenges in greater length.ISSN: 1324-5945Reference: 41AL892
