Purpose – Describes a leadership development program, developed by PricewaterhouseCoopers UK, that aims to encourage managers to reflect on the leadership styles, understand their values and develop their strengths. Highlights that the external projects that the participants work on can involve working on corporate social responsibility programs, for example improving facilities at an inner city youth center or with African villagers and farmers in Kenya. Design/methodology/approach – Discusses why the program was set up, the leadership development methods used and its value as a talent management/talent retention program. Findings – Underlines that the program’s stress on reflection encourages participants to become more self-aware and to examine their personal and business values. Originality/value – Cites the leadership development program as one that affects participants at a deeper and more emotional level than other programs.ISSN: 1358-6297Reference: 36AJ130
