Craegmoor Healthcare: age diversity boosts recruitment and retention

Purpose – Describes the age diversity policy and practices that have enabled Craegmoor Healthcare (UK) to retain workers, reduce recruitment and training costs and motivate its workforce. Design/methodology/approach – Quotes the HR Director at Craegmoor Healthcare about the business case for developing the age-diversity of its workforce, the policy review that identified what practices should be introduced, and the practices, themselves. Lists the practices that were altered to make sure that age discrimination was removed and to encourage people of all ages to work for the organization. Explains what was done. Findings – Highlights the success of the practices that were developed to encourage an age-diverse workforce, underlining the benefits that Craegmoor Healthcare achieved in terms of being able to deliver high quality services at lower cost.
