Organizations join forces on workforce development

Organizations join forces on workforce development

Two organizations have agreed an approach to joint working which puts the individual at the heart of workforce development. The University for Industry and the National Training Organization national council are both responsible for developing solutions to skill shortages which mean that six million Britons have no formal qualifications. Under the terms of a memorandum of understanding, they undertake to work together on developing their information and advice services on training and careers, using technologies which will make the services more easily accessible to those in work, and to those starting work or seeking a career.

The memorandum also outlines proposals for collaboration on the development of learning materials and resources, and confirms the commitment of the two organizations to establish new ways of linking national qualifications to work-related learning and employers' skill needs.
