Household food consumption and expenditure: 1974: Annual Report of the National Food Survey Committee
Abstract
This Report of the National Food Survey Committee, published on July 2, deals with the economic, social and nutritional aspects of household food consumption in Great Britain in 1974, when total consumers' expenditure on goods and services fell slightly in real terms. Simultaneously, the cost of imports of food and animal feeding‐stuffs increased sharply and retail food prices rose relatively more than other retail prices, so that the proportion of total consumers' expenditure devoted to food increased marginally to 22%.
