PRUDENT DIET FOODS
Abstract
In most of the ‘developed’ countries of the western hemisphere, heart disease has become the major killer disease not only of the upper age groups, but also of the middle age groups of 35 to 45 years. In the U.K. for example, three‐quarters of all deaths in the male community aged above 65 are due to C.H.D. Even in the 35–45 category, the disease is second only to road accidents as a cause of death. Females are relatively immune from the disease until after the menopause, although they are subsequently as vulnerable as males.
