In line with Industrial Management's policy of examining and reporting on technological developments of interest and use to managers in British industry, we have been reading a report by the Government‐sponsored Advisory Council for Applied Research and Development (HMSO, £2.50). Entitled ‘Computer Aided Design and Manufacture’, it deals with industrial applications of compu‐ter aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacture (CAM), usually known to the cognoscenti as CAD/CAM.
