BLIND SPOT ON DANGER LOADS
Abstract
Countless tons of dangerous chemicals are stored in compounds and carried along Britain's roads every day — much of it unidentified. Norma Turner reports on dangers to the public — including those living near Canvey Island — and argues that it is in the chemical companies' interests to press for statutory enforcement of the existing voluntary safety schemes.
