Abstract

TRIBOLOGY, officially defined as “the science of interactive faces in relative motion”, must have major significance in the process of metal manipulation by stamping and blanking manufacturing methods. This is especially so where the talent of high technology are simultaneously applied to develop high‐speed mass‐production by fine blanking to produce, in a single stamping movement, quality components, each one clean sheared, smooth and d imensionally accurate.
