Abstract

Swiss Tar Industries Ltd., an affiliated company of Sandoz Ltd., Basle, presents a novel series of experimental products as aqueous dispersions of light stabilisers which have specially been developed for water‐borne paint systems. The four liquid products are compatible with water‐borne systems of various kinds and can be directly added to systems that are ready for use. The new products prevent colour change and reduce gloss reduction and crack formation due to the influence of light and weather. In transparent systems stabilisation of the coated material (e.g. certain plastic materials and wood) against discoloration or yellowing is achieved. it is further claimed.
