Abstract
The recent publication of the Bullock Report on Industrial Democracy has met with a mixed reception from employers and the unions. Whilst many people believe that there is a case for fuller participation, through elected representatives, of employees in the running of the companies in which they earn their livelihood, any attempt to impose “worker‐directors” by law, as the Bullock Report suggests, is likely to create an even more divided atmosphere in industry of “them and us” than exists already.
