Comment: Powder coatings research programme

Abstract

Interest in powder coatings and applications is continuing to grow at a remarkable rate, as more and more people realise the many benefits that are to be gained from the process, such as improved properties and greatly reduced environmental pollution. Some reports from America have claimed that the growth is expected to continue over the next few years at the same rate as at present. The major part of the projected market is predicted for the electrostatic spray process. There is already considerable evidence that the initial, easier markets have accepted the process. Further growth on the same scale, however, necessitates a far greater understanding of the science and technology involved.
