Arguing from the General to the particular — 2
Abstract
Just a year ago, the Business & Technician Education Council (BTEC) took over from its predecessors, BEC and TEC. One of the many assets inherited by the new Council was the BEC ‘General’. In the last session (1983/84), over 35,000 young people in over 500 secondary schools and nearly 400 further education colleges were studying part‐time or full‐time for BTEC General Certificates and Diplomas in Business Studies. This is no mean achievement for a scheme only in its seventh year of operation.
