WHO BELONGS TO GLASGOW?

Abstract
IN MARCH 1966 SOME 2200 primary school pupils in Glasgow were receiving only half‐time education. As a percentage of the total primary roll this is not a large figure but it highlights the difficulties of teaching in a largely depressed social area. The industrial west of Scotland has an acute staffing problem in its schools. At one time 25 of Glasgow's primary schools could provide only part‐time education for their pupils.
