New examination techniques in Mathematics

Abstract

All over the country regional panels of practising teachers are discussing the content of syllabuses and techniques of examining for the many subjects covered by the new Certificate of Secondary Education. In the field of mathematics the current trends toward ‘new’ mathematics conflict with conservative traditional attitudes. It is this conflict which will eventually lead towards new ideas and techniques which are practical in their applications to the schools.
