Abstract
A great deal of work is undertaken by groups. Hence it is important to study the determinants of group effectiveness. A mass of data has been accumulated. In turn, various frameworks have been built to enable these varied studies to be ordered. One such framework with independent, intermediate and dependent variables is shown in Figure A. The independent variables are the externally manipulative “givens” of a group, and include the physical setting.
