Welcome to this special 25th Anniversary issue of the TQM journal. To celebrate this momentous event we have invited six authors to contribute papers looking both retrospectively and in to the future with regards to various aspects of quality management. The authors have had a long association with the TQM journal as either editors, members of the editorial advisory board, authors or all three and are themselves renowned in their various fields of quality. We have three contributions from the UK, two from Italy, one each from Australia and the USA, reflecting the international scope of the TQM journal. Thanks are due to those contributors. Thanks are also due to the many people who have worked on the journal over the past 25 years, as well as authors and reviewers, without whom the TQM journal would not have survived. We hope you enjoy this issues and look forward to the next 25 years.
