Abstract
Purpose
Aims to explain how Procter & Gamble's Go, Give and Grow scheme is helping the company to attract the brightest and best graduates.
Design/methodology/approach
Details how the scheme operates and presents the comments of two of the people who are taking part.
Findings
Finds that Go, Give and Grow provides new graduates selected for employment P&G with the chance to work for 12 months in a developing country with the World Health Organization (WHO) or Unicef. P&G provides an induction program to help with the transition to living and working in a developing country, covers the costs of return flights, insurance and medical expenses, and pays a local‐rate salary. In return, the graduates have an unrivalled learning experience and opportunity for both personal and professional development.
Practical implications
Describes a scheme that appears to have struck a chord with today's young people.
Originality/value
Shows that Go, Give and Grow has helped P&G to rise 12 places in the graduate recruitment table in Switzerland.
