Abstract
Purpose
Waste classification plays an important role in reducing pollution, promoting waste recycling and resource utilization. This paper aims to explore the multiple reasons that affect the performance of waste classification governance.
Design/methodology/approach
Content analysis of the existing waste classification policies is conducted using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model. Based on this analysis, influencing factors are identified through the technology-organization-environment (TOE) research framework. The condition configurations and action paths that cause differences in governance performance are derived using the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis method (fsQCA).
Findings
The results show that there are spatial and temporal disparities in waste classification policies among different provinces/cities. In most situations, the implementation effect of policy combinations is better than that of a single type of policy, with mandatory policies playing a key role. Additionally, a single influencing factor cannot constitute the bottleneck of high governance performance. Policy topics coordinate with environmental and technical factors to influence governance performance. Finally, in light of China's actual governance situation, several targeted implications are proposed for the practical optimization of local government waste classification governance.
Originality/value
This paper presents a novel approach by integrating multiple heterogeneous data sources from both online and offline channels, adopting a public-government perspective and applying the fsQCA method to investigate the combined effects of technical, organizational and environmental factors on waste classification governance performance across 31 provinces and cities in China.

Abstract
Purpose
The main purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of digital transformation on enterprises' performance considering financing constraints in the capital market to explore whether digital transformation improves enterprises' performance through the financing constraints channel.
Design/methodology/approach
This study, using a panel data set of 14,669 observations of 2,858 non-financial enterprises that issued A shares on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2013 to 2019, theoretically and empirically tests the impact and mechanism of digital transformation on enterprise performance.
Findings
Digital transformation has a significant positive effect on enterprise performance; this conclusion remains the same after the robustness test and endogeneity problems are dealt with. Financing constraints play a mediation role between digital transformation and enterprise innovation. The effect of digital transformation on enterprise performance varies significantly by size, ownership and industry.
Originality/value
The theoretical contributions of this study not only enrich the literature on the economic benefits and mechanism of digital transformation but also expand the literature on the factors that influence enterprise performance. The practical contribution of this study is the reference that it provides for implementing decisions about enterprise digital transformation and formulating differentiated policies for government digital transformation.

Abstract
Purpose
Biomechanical properties of bones and fixators are important. The aim of this study was to develop a new device to simulate the real mechanical environment and to evaluate biomechanical properties of the bone with a fixation device, including the static force and the fatigue characters.
Design/methodology/approach
In this paper, the device is mainly composed of three parts: pull-pressure transmission system, bending force applying system and torsion applying system, which can successfully simulate the pre-introduced pull-pressure force, bending force and torsion force, respectively. To prove the feasibility of the design, theoretical analysis is used. It is concluded from the simulated result that this scheme of design can successfully satisfy the request of the evaluation.
Findings
Finally, on the basis of the force sensor calibration, the static force experiment and fatigue experiment are carried out using the tibia of the sheep as the specimen. It is concluded from the result that the relationship between the micro displacement and the applied axial force is nearly linear. Under the condition of 1 Hz in frequency, 500 N in loading force and 18,000 reciprocating cycles, the bone fixator can still be in good condition, which proves the feasibility of the design.
Originality/value
Biomechanical properties of bones and fixators are studied by researchers. However, few simulate a real force environment and combine forces in different directions. So a novel system is designed and fabricated to evaluate the biomechanical properties of the bones and fixators. Results of the experiments show that this new system is reliable and stable, which can support the biomechanical study and clinical treatment.

Abstract
Purpose
Digitalization encourages the manufacturer to engage in inter-organizational technological activities (i.e. supplier IT integration and supply visibility) with its major supplier, which influences supply chain (SC) governance. This study tests a moderated mediation model that considers supplier IT integration and supply visibility as mediators between supply-side digitalization and supplier opportunism, and relational ties as a moderator in the relationship between inter-organizational technological activities and supplier opportunism.
Design/methodology/approach
Ordinary least square (OLS) regression is used to examine data from 200 firms in China describing their supply chain management (SCM) practices and perceived relationships with their major suppliers.
Findings
Supply-side digitalization is positively related to supplier IT integration and supply visibility. Supply-side digitalization has a positive indirect effect on supplier opportunism through supplier IT integration but a negative indirect effect through supply visibility. Relational ties weaken the positive effect of supplier IT integration and the positive indirect effect of supply-side digitalization on supplier opportunism. Relational ties also weaken the negative effect of supply visibility and the negative indirect effect of supply-side digitalization on supplier opportunism.
Originality/value
This study enriches understanding of SC governance in the digital age by empirically confirming that digital transformation brings both challenges and opportunities to SC governance and by clarifying the interplay of relational governance and technological activities. In addition, this study contributes to the SC digitalization literature by empirically validating the role of digitalization in promoting inter-organizational technological activities, as well as by revealing its potential dark side.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to study the encounter issues of the Tethered-Space Net Robot System (TSNRS) with non-target objects on orbit during the maneuver, including the collision issues with small space debris and the obstacle avoidance from large obstacles.
Design/methodology/approach
For the collision of TSNRS with small debris, the available collision model of the tethered net and its limitation is discussed, and the collision detection method is improved. Then the dynamic response of TSNRS is studied and a closed-loop controller is designed. For the obstacle avoidance, the variable enveloping circle of the TSNRS has coupled with the artificial potential field (APF) method. In addition, the APF is improved with a local trajectory correction method to avoid the overbending segment of the trajectory.
Findings
The collision model coupled with the improved collision detection method solves the detection failure and speeds up calculation efficiency by 12 times. Collisions of TSNRS with small debris make the local thread stretch and deforms finally making the net a mess. The boundary of the disturbance is obtained by a series of collision tests, and the designed controller not only achieved the tracking control of the TSNRS but also suppressed the disturbance of the net.
Practical implications
This paper fills the gap in the research on the collision of the tethered net with small debris and makes the collision model more general and efficient by improving the collision detection method. And the coupled obstacle avoidance method makes the process of obstacle avoidance safer and smoother.
Originality/value
The work in this paper provides a reference for the on-orbit application of TSNRS in the active space debris removal mission.

Abstract
Purpose
Facilitating supply chain visibility and traceability through effective information sharing is vital to improve the quality and safety of food products. However, we know little about the enablers of information sharing in food supply chains. Drawing upon resource dependence theory and social exchange theory, the purpose of this paper is to explore how farmers’ dependence on companies influences their trust in and relationship commitment to those companies, and in turn facilitates effective information sharing with them.
Design/methodology/approach
Data collected from 462 farmers in China were used to test the conceptual model and related hypotheses.
Findings
The results show that dependence has a significant positive effect on trust and relationship commitment, but it has no direct significant effect on information sharing. In addition, trust has a significantly positive influence on relationship commitment, and both trust and relationship commitment have significantly positive effects on information sharing. These findings show that strengthening farmers’ dependence on companies can cultivate farmers’ trust and relationship commitment, thereby encouraging them to share information with the companies.
Originality/value
Theoretically, this study contributes to the supply chain information sharing and relationship management literature. Practically, it shows how companies can effectively monitor production processes and improve food quality and safety through information sharing and relationship management.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the antecedents of supply chain information integration (SCII) and their consequences on company performance from the perspective of resource-based view (RBV).
Design/methodology/approach
Based on empirical survey data collected from 202 Australian manufacturers, this study examines the effects of strategic supply chain relationship (SCR) and supply chain technology (SCT) internalization on external and internal information integration (II) and the effects of external and internal II on operational (operational efficiency and service quality) and financial performance. Structural equation modeling and the maximum-likelihood estimation methods are used to test the proposed relationships.
Findings
The results indicate that both strategic SCR and SCT internalization are positively related to external and internal II. Moreover, strategic SCR has a stronger positive relationship with external II than with internal II, and SCT internalization has a stronger positive relationship with internal II than with external II. Internal II is positively related only to service quality, and external II is positively related only to operational efficiency. Both operational efficiency and service quality are positively related to financial performance.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the SCII literature and provides significant managerial implications for manufacturers to leverage their supply chain resources and capabilities by establishing a resources-capabilities-performance framework for the antecedents and consequences of SCII.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to relate Taoist Yin‐Yang thinking to Western nomology in terms of trust and trust building, seeking to explore the question of how trust impacts on conflict management.
Design/methodology/approach
A moderating model of trust in conflict management is proposed. Investigations and observations using primary and secondary data are described. Three cases are presented to explain the moderating effects of adjusting activities and trust on conflict and negotiation.
Findings
The proposed model was supported. The following findings have been obtained: keeping a balance between adjusting others and adjusting self is a key to resolving conflict; creating and retaining harmony is a bridge that leads both sides in conflict and negotiation to adjust themselves; taking indirect actions through relationships instead of by direct actions through power is a good way to trigger a state of harmony; and trust is shown to be the original driver and source that contribute to adapting actions, harmony and eventually to a win‐win negotiation outcome.
Research limitations/implications
The investigations were limited in time and scope and consequently not conclusive.
Practical implications
This research may provide practical implictions for people and organizations interested in conflict resolution who wish to: take a position that values trust; take indirect actions through relationship instead of direct actions through power; create and retain harmony between both sides in conflict and negotiation; and keep a balance between adjusting others and adjusting self, so to achieve win‐win negotiation outcomes.
Originality/value
This research may enhance the understanding of Taoist Yin‐Yang thinking by linking it with the Western nomology.
