Abstract
Caching is commonly used to improve the performance of mobile computers. Due to the limitations of wireless networks (e.g. low bandwidth, intermittent connectivity), ensuring the consistency of cached data becomes a difficult issue. Existing research have shown that broadcast‐based cache invalidation techniques can effectively maintain cache consistency for mobile applications. However, most existing performance analysis of cache invalidation algorithms were carried out through simulation. Therefore, an analytical study is important to provide a deeper understanding of broadcast‐based invalidation techniques. In this paper, we present detailed analytical models of the major existing cache invalidation schemes. The models provide a basis to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the different schemes and facilitate further investigation into cache invalidation for mobile environments. Extensive simulation has also been performed, and verifies the accuracy of the models developed.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of Hall’s cultural dimension on the mobile banking (m-banking) individual performance in the m-banking post-adoption stage.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper proposes using the DeLone and McLean IS success model moderated by Hall’s cross-cultural dimensions of high-low context and monochronic-polychronic time perception to evaluate the m-banking individual performance in the post-adoption stage.
Findings
The results reveal that usage and user satisfaction are important precedents of individual performance, and it also reveals the importance of the moderating effects of monochronic inclination between the usage and user satisfaction to individual performance. The system, information, and service quality affect user’s satisfaction positively.
Originality/value
While the majority of earlier research focuses on potential adopters, this study seeks to understand the significance of cultural effects on the m-banking individual performance in the post-adoption stage, as these are important to explain use and attract potential adopters of m-banking.

The study's goal is to look at how total quality management (TQM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and organizational performance interact to affect organizational excellence.
Design/methodology/approach
A survey questionnaire research design was used to achieve the goal of this study through the hypothesized model. The information was obtained from a Dubai police organization. Out of 550 questionnaires, 320 questionnaires were returned. To analyze the data for measurement and structural models, the structural equation modeling (SEM) partial least squares method was used.
Findings
The statistical results confirmed the positive and significant effects of TQM and ERP on organizational performance. The mediation role of organizational performance between TQM, ERP and organizational excellence also was confirmed.
Practical implications
More details and significant consequences have been explored in this study. The findings have a number of practical implications. The findings also assist practitioners and managers in making the best decisions while incorporating TQM, ERP and excellence practices in their organizations. Organizations will achieve optimum strong excellence and stay competitive in a competitive market by integrating the effects of TQM, ERP and organizational performance.
Originality/value
This study is another empirical investigation into the combined impact of TQM, ERP and performance on excellence relationships. In other words, the current study is one of the few that investigates the mediating role of organizational performance as a variable alongside organizational excellence as the ultimate variable in developing countries, specifically in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of technological pillars of Industry 4.0 based on knowledge to adopt the supply chain performance of Thai small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) 4.0. In addition, to increase knowledge and understanding of how to apply knowledge in technology 4.0 to improve the efficiency of supply chains and organizations.
Design/methodology/approach
An integrated model was developed from applying knowledge in five technological pillars of Industry 4.0 such as Internet of things (IoTs), cloud computing, big data and analytics, additive manufacturing and cyber-security. The bibliometric analysis was used to find the relationship between the technological pillars of Industry 4.0 and the literature review. The survey questionnaires were sent to Thai SME 4.0 (manufacturing aspect). Of these, 240 useable responses were received, resulting in a response rate of 65.84%, after then, the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), structural equation modeling (SEM) and validity were used to evaluate the model through IBM SPSS 21 and AMOS 22.
Findings
EFA showed the four groups of the technological pillars of Industry 4.0, such as support human, automation, real-time and security. These groups positively impact supply chain performance (increase delivery reliability, increase resource efficiency, decrease costs in the supply chain and reduce delivery time). Another important finding is that supply chain performance positively impacts organizational performance in profitability, return on investment (ROI) and sale growth.
Originality/value
This study is a model development to support the supply chain performance and increase understanding related to applying knowledge in technology 4.0 that remains unclear for SME 4.0.
