Abstract
Purpose
While cyberloafing has emerged as a prevalent issue in numerous workplaces, research on its consequences is still underdeveloped, highlighting a need for further exploration and analysis. Drawing upon the cognitive appraisal theory of emotion, this study investigates the influence of coworkers' cyberloafing on employees' workplace incivility, mediated by negative emotions and moderated by task interdependence.
Design/methodology/approach
In Study 1, the hypothesized research model was tested utilizing three-wave time-lagged survey data collected from 333 employees and their coworkers. In Study 2, an additional sample of 274 employees was surveyed. Data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis and the bootstrap method.
Findings
The results indicated that coworkers' cyberloafing positively influenced employees' workplace incivility, with this relationship mediated by negative emotions. Additionally, task interdependence was found to positively moderate both the direct relationship between coworkers' cyberloafing and negative emotions and the indirect path from coworkers' cyberloafing to employees' workplace incivility through negative emotions.
Practical implications
This study helps managers gain a deeper understanding of cyberloafing's effects, enabling them to manage and curb it more effectively.
Originality/value
Prior research has predominantly explored the effects of cyberloafing on its implementers. However, this study innovatively shifts focus to the observer perspective, empirically demonstrating whether and how coworkers' cyberloafing affects employees' workplace incivility, enriching and expanding the existing literature.

Abstract
Purpose
Drawing upon the conservation of resources (COR) theory, this study aims to examine whether ego depletion mediates the relationship between negative workplace gossip and employees’ service sabotage behavior and whether psychological resilience moderates the relationship between negative workplace gossip and service sabotage behavior through the mediator of ego depletion among hotel frontline employees and their colleagues.
Design/methodology/approach
A paired sample was collected at three-time points from employees and their colleagues working in hotels in Guizhou province, China. The PROCESS macro for SPSS was applied to examine the moderated mediation model.
Findings
The results showed that negative workplace gossip has a positive effect on employee service sabotage behavior, and that ego depletion mediates the relationship between negative workplace gossip and employee service sabotage behavior. Psychological resilience weakens the relationship between negative workplace gossip and ego depletion, as well as the indirect effect of negative workplace gossip on employee service sabotage behavior through ego depletion.
Originality/value
The present research provides a thorough understanding of when and how negative workplace gossip influences employee service sabotage behavior in the hospitality industry. The findings of this moderated mediation relationship expanded the boundary conditions of negative workplace gossip and employee service sabotage behavior.

Abstract
Purpose
The substantial cost of employee cyberloafing to organizations calls for research into exploring the factors that influence such behavior. Drawing upon social cognitive theory, the authors develop a theoretical model that unpacks when and why leader forgiveness induces employee cyberloafing. Specifically, the authors identify moral disengagement as a linking mechanism and employee empathic concern as a key boundary condition in the association between leader forgiveness and employee cyberloafing behaviors.
Design/methodology/approach
The authors conducted multilevel analyses to examine the authors' hypotheses by utilizing a sample of 71 supervisors and 306 direct reports.
Findings
Results showed that leader forgiveness encouraged employee cyberloafing via moral disengagement among employees with low empathic concern, whereas the indirect effect was not present among those with high empathic concern.
Originality/value
The authors contribute to the literature on cyberloafing and leader forgiveness. First, this study extends the cyberloafing research by considering leader forgiveness as an enabler, challenging the dominant notion that positive leader behaviors (e.g. leader mindfulness) constrain employee cyberloafing while negative leader behaviors (e.g. abusive supervision) elicit it. Second, although past studies have predominantly concentrated on the positive outcomes of forgiveness, the current research contributes to the balanced and comprehensive understanding of leader forgiveness by linking leader forgiveness with employee cyberloafing.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to numerically and experimentally evaluate the effect of the protection net icing on the inlet performance of helicopter engines.
Design/methodology/approach
The ice shapes of the protection net at different times are first simulated by a two-dimensional (2D) icing calculation, then the porous media parameters are calculated based on the 2D ice shapes. Afterward, three-dimensional flow fields of the engine inlet with the iced net are simulated using the porous media model instead of the real protection net. The transient pressure losses of the iced protection net are calculated and tested through an icing wind tunnel test rig under different icing conditions.
Findings
Overall, the numerical results and experimental data show a good agreement. The effects of several control parameters, such as liquid water contents (LWC), water droplet diameters and airflow velocities on the pressure loss of the protection net during the icing process are analyzed in a systematic manner. The results indicate that the pressure loss increases with the increase of the LWC at the same icing time. The same trend occurs when the water droplet diameter and the airflow velocity increase.
Originality/value
A new method to predict the pressure loss of the iced protection net is proposed. A series of tests in an icing wind tunnel are performed to obtain the ice shapes and pressure loss of protection net during the icing process.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the public safety risks of international construction projects (ICPs) from the perspective of threat and vulnerability. A novel and comprehensive risk assessment approach is developed from a systemic perspective and applied to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to improve the public safety risk management strategy for ICPs in BRI.
Design/methodology/approach
First, a public safety risk indicator system was constructed from the two dimensions, namely threat and vulnerability. Next, an integrated measurement model was constructed by combining the Genetic Algorithm-Backpropagation (GA-BP) neural network, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and matter-element extension (MME) method. Data from 49 countries involved in the BRI, as well as five typical projects, were used to validate the model. Finally, targeted risk prevention measures were identified for use at the national, enterprise and project levels.
Findings
The findings indicate that while the vulnerability risks of typical projects in each region of the BRI were generally low, threat risks were high in West Asia and North Africa, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and South Asia.
Originality/value
First, the structure of the public safety risk system of ICPs was analyzed using vulnerability and system theories. The connotation of public safety risk was defined based on two dimensions, namely threat and vulnerability. The idea of measuring threat risk with public data and measuring vulnerability risk with project data was clarified, and the risk measurement was integrated into the measurement results to help researchers and managers understand and systematically consider the public safety risks of ICPs. Second, a public safety risk indicator system was constructed, including 18 threat risk indicators and 14 vulnerability risk indicators to address the gaps in the existing research. The MEE model was employed to overcome the problem of incompatible indicator systems and provide stable and credible integrated measurement results. Finally, the whole-process public safety risk management scheme designed in this study can help to both provide a reference point for the Chinese enterprises and oversea contractors in market selection as well as improve ICP public safety risk management.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to design a soft robot for performing detection, by using a hybrid drive to reach the target point faster and enable the robot to perform the detection task at a relatively fast speed.
Design/methodology/approach
The soft robot is driven by a mixture of motors and pneumatic pressure, in which the pneumatic pressure is used to drive the soft actuator to bend and the motors to drive the soft robot forward. The careful design of the actuator is based on a finite element simulation using ABAQUS, which combines a constant curvature differential model and the D-H method to analyze the motion space of the soft actuator.
Findings
The soft robot’s ability to adapt to the environment and cross obstacles has been demonstrated by building prototypes and complex environments such as grass, gravel, sand and pipes.
Originality/value
This design can improve the speed and smoothness of the motion of the soft robot, while retaining the good environmental flexibility of the soft robot. And the soft robot has good environmental adaptability and the ability to cross obstacles. The soft robot proposed in this paper has broad prospects in fields such as pipeline inspection and field exploration.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to provide a better understanding of the driving forces and structural changes of China as a market provider for Korea. This paper gives the answers for the following questions: How do China’s final demands trigger the growth of its imports from Korea? And what’s the impact of China’s final demands on the import in different industries?
Design/methodology/approach
Based on the Multi-Regional Input-Output model and World Input-Output Table database, this paper constructs the non-competitive imports input-output (IO) table of China to Korea. According to this table, we can calculate the induced imports coefficient and comprehensive induced import coefficients of China’s four final demands for imports from Korea in the 56 industries in China.
Findings
Among the four driving forces, the strongest one is changes in inventories and valuables. The impact of final consumption expenditure and fixed capital formation is much lower than that of changes in inventories and valuables, but they have a broader impact for the 56 industries. This paper finds out the China’s import induction of the final demands to Korea peaked in 2005 and 2010 and decreased greatly in 2014, so the position of China as market provider for Korea will no longer rise substantially, contrarily it will be in a steady state.
Originality/value
First, this paper constructs the non-competitive IO table to analyze the market provider issues between two countries and provides practical ways and methods for studies on the issues of imports and market provider. Second, this paper investigates the different roles of four final demands on driving force of China as market provider for Korea and the structural changes of China as a market provider for Korea among 56 industries from 2000 to 2014.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to create a flight route optimization for all flights that aims to minimize the total cost consists of fuel cost, ground delay cost and air delay cost over the fixed route and free route airspaces.
Design/methodology/approach
Efficient usage of current available airspace capacity becomes more and more important with the increasing flight demands. The efficient capacity usage of an airspace is generally in contradiction to optimum flight efficiency of a single flight. It can only be achieved with the holistic approach that focusing all flights over mixed airspaces and their routes instead of single flight route optimization for a single airspace. In the scope of this paper, optimization methods were developed to find the best route planning for all flights considering the benefits of all flights not only a single flight. This paper is searching for an optimization to reduce the total cost for all flights in mixed airspaces. With the developed optimization models, the determination of conflict-free optimum routes and delay amounts was achieved with airway capacity and separation minimum constraints in mixed airspaces. The mathematical model and the simulated annealing method were developed for these purposes.
Findings
The total cost values for flights were minimized by both developed mathematical model and simulated annealing algorithm. With the mathematical model, a reduction in total route length of 4.13% and a reduction in fuel consumption of 3.95% was achieved in a mixed airspace. The optimization algorithm with simulated annealing has also 3.11% flight distance saving and 3.03% fuel consumption enhancement.
Research limitations/implications
Although the wind condition can change the fuel consumption and flight durations, the paper does not include the wind condition effects. If the wind condition effect is considered, the shortest route may not always cause the least fuel consumption especially under the head wind condition.
Practical implications
The results of this paper show that a flight route optimization as a holistic approach considering the all flight demand information enhances the fuel consumption and flight duration. Because of this reason, the developed optimization model can be effectively used to minimize the fuel consumption and reduce the exhaust emissions of aircraft.
Originality/value
This paper develops the mathematical model and simulated annealing algorithm for the optimization of flight route over the mixed airspaces that compose of fixed and free route airspaces. Each model offers the best available and conflict-free route plan and if necessary required delay amounts for each demanded flight under the airspace capacity, airspace route structure and used separation minimum for each airspace.

Purpose
Rosewood, as the most internationally traded endangered species, is subject to a series of restrictive trade policies globally. China has historically been the largest importer of rosewood in the world. The fluctuation of China’s rosewood import prices will have a profound impact on the global rosewood trade pattern. This study, therefore, assessed the impact of restrictive trade policies on China’s rosewood import prices to explore the fluctuation rule of rosewood trade prices under restrictive policies.
Design/methodology/approach
The study built a partial equilibrium framework about the formation mechanism of rosewood import price bubbles under supply constraints. On this basis, with China’s daily import prices of major rosewood species, the generalized supremum augmented Dickey–Fuller (GSADF) and backward supremum augmented Dickey–Fuller (BSADF) tests were applied to explore the effect of restrictive trade policies on China’s rosewood import prices.
Findings
The empirical analysis revealed that there were multiple price bubbles for five of the seven rosewood species. The largest bubbles were always created before and after the deployment of supply constraints. The empirical results for the counterfactual examples implied that price bubbles would not have occurred if restrictive rosewood trade policies had not been implemented. The above findings indicated that these measures tended to trigger significant price bubbles in China’s rosewood imports.
Originality/value
The effect of restrictive rosewood trade policies on rosewood trade prices had not yet been explored in previous research studies. This study empirically analyzed the effect of restrictive trade policies on China’s rosewood import prices using econometric models.
