Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper aims to investigate the adaptive impedance control and its optimized PSO algorithm for force tracking of a dual-arm cooperative robot. Because the dual-arm robot is directly in contact with external environment, controlling the mutual force between robot and external environment is of great importance. Besides, a high compliance of the robot should be guaranteed.
Design/methodology/approach
An impedance control based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is designed to track the mutual force and achieve compliance control of the robot end.
Findings
The experimental results show that the impedance control coefficients can be automatically tuned converged by PSO algorithm.
Originality/value
The system can reach a steady state within 0.03 s with overshoot convergence, and the force fluctuation range at the steady state decreases to about ±0.08 N even under the force mutation condition.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper examines the pre-factors of college students’ entrepreneurial behaviors and how their background characteristics affect corporate financial performance in high-tech businesses.
Design/methodology/approach
About 67 high-tech businesses in China focusing on technical innovation from the Guotai’an database are selected to carry out empirical analysis.
Findings
It is observed that the age, educational and professional backgrounds of college entrepreneurs profoundly influence their ventures geared toward high-tech innovation. Moreover, the transformation abilities, managerial proficiency and growth capabilities, which characterize these ventures, notably affect business performance. They further serve as a moderator in the relationship between the entrepreneurial backgrounds of college students and the overall business performance of their enterprises.
Originality/value
It insinuates novel strategic avenues for collegiate entrepreneurs’ entrepreneurial mindset and industrial positioning. Moreover, our findings will not only augment the practical research in the realm of collegiate entrepreneurship but also enhance the study of technological innovation theories, thereby offering further insight and guidance for collegiate entrepreneurs’ innovative endeavors and entrepreneurial pursuits.

Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to make a comprehensive evaluation of the progress and achievements made by China and Japan in literature collection, publication and academic research of South Manchuria Railways Co (SMR) after the Second World War and points out the existing and urgent problems.
Design/methodology/approach
This paper adopts the methods of literature research, questionnaire survey, comparative analysis and expert consultation.
Findings
After the Second World War, both China and Japan made great achievements in the collection, publication and research of SMR data, as well as in the academic research of SMR. However, as a new research field, there are still some problems in deepening the excavation and utilization of SMR data, expanding the research fields, improving the research methods, etc.
Originality/value
SMR itself was the product of a war of aggression. Although it died with the defeat of the war of aggression, remaining SMR data also has very precious value, it records the history of Japanese aggression against China, is the biggest database for the study of the problems in China and northeast Aisa at that time. In addition to Japan and China, the USA and the Soviet Union also kept part of the SMR data, so that to involve them in the research of SMR is also the purpose of this paper.

This paper aims to expound the composition and characteristics of “SMR Data”, to elaborate the role of the “SMR Data” in the comprehensive study of Anti-Japanese War from three aspects.
Design/methodology/approach
There are several methodologies included in this thesis, such as literature inquiry, questionnaire survey, field investigation and expert consultation.
Findings
The SMR Data is a historical portrayal of the 40 years of SMR. Its content is integrative, comprehensive and systematic. It covers a large area and a wide range of topics and can reflect the whole process of Japanese militarism’s invasion of China from different aspects.
Originality/value
The study of historical subject is not for the historical fact itself, exploring yesterday is looking for lessons for today. Because the imperialism phenomenon still exists and has not completely withdrew from the historical stage, people step into the typical imperialist colonial aggression, mighty and quite rich mysterious “SMR kingdom” historic sites, to explore the profound truth, unravel mysteries and find out the warning. Taking history as a mirror, all peace-loving people in the world call for a new international order and realize the harmonious coexistence of mankind.

Abstract
Purpose
Lead users are essential participants in crowdsourcing innovation events; their continuance intention significantly affects the success of the crowdsourcing innovation community (CIC). Although researchers have acknowledged the influences of network externalities on users' sustained participation in general information systems, limited work has been conducted to probe these relationships in the CIC context; particularly, the predictors of lead users' continued usage intention in such context are still unclear. Hence, this paper aims to explore the precursors of lead users' continuance intention from a network externalities perspective in CIC.
Design/methodology/approach
This work ranked users' leading-edge status to recognize lead users in the CIC. And then, the authors proposed a research model based on the network externalities theory, which was examined utilizing the partial least squares (PLS) technique. The research data were collected from an online survey of lead users (n = 229) of a CIC hosted by a China handset manufacturer.
Findings
Results revealed that the number of peers, perceived complementarity and perceived compatibility significantly influence lead users' continuance intention through identification and perceived usefulness.
Originality/value
This work contributes to the crowdsourcing innovation research and provides views regarding how lead users' sustained participation can be developed in the CICs. This work also offers an alternative theoretical framework for further research on users' continued intention in open innovation activities.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to ensure the safe use of carbon fiber composite pressure vessels in the nuclear industry environment.
Design/methodology/approach
This study investigated the degradation behaviors of carbon fiber reinforced composite (CFRP) using the specific corrosive media HF solution, with a focus on the damage to the surface epoxy layer. The degradation behaviors of CFRP in HF solution were examined by electrochemical methods and surface characterization, using HCl, NaCl and NaF solution for comparison.
Findings
The results showed that the specimen in HF solution will have a value of |Z|0.01 Hz one order of magnitude lower, a substantially lower contact angle, more breakage of the surface epoxy and the stronger O─H peak and weaker C─O─C peak in the Fourier transform infrared spectrum, indicating severe hydrolytic damage to the surface epoxy.
Originality/value
The work focuses on the degradation damage to CFRP surface epoxy by specific corrosive media HF.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to investigate the corrosion inhibitor effect of migrating corrosion inhibitor (MCI) on Q235 steel in high alkaline environment under cathodic polarization.
Design/methodology/approach
This study investigated the electrochemical characteristics of Q235 steel with and without MCI by polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Besides, the surface composition of Q235 steel under different environments was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition, the migration characteristic of MCI and the adsorption behavior of MCI under cathodic polarization were studied using Raman spectroscopy.
Findings
Diethanolamine (DEA) and N, N-dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) can inhibit the increase of Fe(II) in the oxide film of Q235 steel under cathodic polarization. The adsorption stability of DMEA film was higher under cathodic polarization potential, showing a higher corrosion inhibition ability. The corrosion inhibition mechanism of DEA and DMEA under cathodic polarization potential was proposed.
Originality/value
The MCI has a broad application prospect in the repair of damaged reinforced concrete due to its unique migratory characteristics. The interaction between MCIs, rebar and concrete with different compositions has been studied, but the passivation behavior of the steel interface in the presence of both the migrating electric field and corrosion inhibitors has been neglected. And it was investigated in this paper.

Abstract
Purpose
Assembly Sequence Planning integrating assembly Resources (ASPR) is a trend in industry. Because of the introduction of resource, the complexity of ASPR for complex product increases drastically; besides, the dynamic property of resource and the co‐existence of assembly sequence and disassembly sequence (ASDS) make the problems in ASPR more difficult. The dynamic assembly model (DAM) based on polychromatic sets (PS) theory was proposed to address these issues.
Design/methodology/approach
First, a strategy was presented to simplify ASPR, taking advantage of assembly sequence generated in the phase of assembly design which considers no resource. Secondly, the concept of DAM was discussed, and some principles/criteria for DAM modeling were generalized from experience. Then, the DAM was modeled by formalizing its incidence relations as PS matrix, and refined based on the formalized criteria, which were expressed as PS locating and collision relation models. Finally, an application case was studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
Findings
The approach could reduce the complexity of ASPR significantly, and was able to identify dynamic resource, model DAM and handle the co‐existence of ASDS effectively.
Practical implications
The method may change the manual pattern of ASPR in simulation environment, and become a potential tool to change the pattern of traditional ASP which comes to work from scratch, by utilizing the upstream information of product design.
Originality/value
Different from traditional assembly model, DAM was a local model which consists of partial components of product and resource, and the DAM‐based ASPR approach would make the computational complexity of product assembly become more linear than exponential.

Abstract
Purpose
Previously, the effect of pore-forming agents on the properties of pore size and morphology was studied. In this paper, we determine the optimal combination of parameters by tensile strength and perform tribological tests with optimal combination of parameters.
Design/methodology/approach
In this paper, porous polyimide (PI) materials were fabricated using vacuum hot molding technology. The orthogonal experiment was designed to test the mechanical properties of porous PI materials with the process parameters and the content of pore-forming agent as the changing factors. The porous PI oil-bearing materials were obtained by vacuum immersion, and tribological test were carried out.
Findings
The results showed that porous PI oil-bearing materials are suitable for low-speed and low-load conditions. The actual value of the friction coefficient basically match with the theoretical value of the regression analysis, and the errors of the friction coefficient are within 10% and 3%, respectively, which proves that the method used in the study is feasible for the friction coefficient prediction.
Originality/value
In this paper, we have produced a new porous oil-bearing material with good tribological properties. This study can effectively predict the friction coefficient of PI porous material.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of nano-Al2O3 particle addition on the nucleation/growth kinetics, microhardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of Co–P–xAl2O3 nanocomposite plating.
Design/methodology/approach
The kinetics and properties of Co–P–xAl2O3 nanocomposite plating prepared by electroplating were investigated by electrochemical measurements, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Vickers microhardness measurement, SRV5 friction and wear tester and atomic force microscopy.
Findings
A 12 g/L nano-Al2O3 addition in the plating solution can transform the nucleation/growth kinetics of the plating from the 3D progressive model to the 3D instantaneous model. The microhardness of the plating increased with the increase of nano-Al2O3 content in plating. The wear resistance of the plating did not adhere strictly to Archard’s law. An even and denser corrosion product film was generated due to the finer grains, with a high corrosion resistance.
Originality/value
The effect of different nano-Al2O3 addition on the nucleation/growth kinetics and properties of Co–P–xAl2O3 nanocomposite plating was investigated, and an anticorrosion mechanism of Co–P–xAl2O3 nanocomposite plating was proposed.
