Abstract
Purpose
This paper aims to explore question and answer (Q&A) participation and behavioral patterns on academic social networking sites (ASNSs) from the perspective of multiple subjects such as academic, corporate and government institutions.
Design/methodology/approach
Focused on the Q&A service of ASNSs, this study chooses ResearchGate (RG) as the target ASNS and collects a large-scale data set from it, involving a sample of users and a Q&A sample about academic, corporate and government institutions. First, it studies the law of Q&A participation and the distribution of the type of user according to the sample of users. Second, it compares question-asking behavior and question-answering behavior stimulated by questions among the three types of institutions based on the Q&A sample. Finally, it discusses the Q&A participation and behavioral patterns of the three types of institutions in academic Q&A exchanges with full consideration of institutional attributes, and provides some suggestions for institutions and ASNSs.
Findings
The results show that these three types of institutions generally have a low level of participation in the Q&A service of RG, and the numbers of questions and answers proposed by institutional users conform to the power-law distribution. There are differences in Q&A participation and Q&A behavioral patterns among academic, corporate and government institutions. Government and academic institutions have more users participating in the Q&A service and their users are more willing to ask questions, while corporate institutions have fewer users who participate in the Q&A service and their users are inclined to provide answers. Questions from corporate institutions attract much more attention than those from the other two types of institutions.
Originality/value
This study reveals and compares the Q&A participation and the behavioral patterns of the three types of institutions in academic Q&A, thus deepening the understanding of the attributes of institutions in the academic information exchange context. In practice, the results can help guide different institutions to use the Q&A service of ASNSs more effectively and help ASNSs to better optimize their Q&A service.

Abstract
Purpose
The preferable concentration of titanium carbide was optimized and added as an additive to the micro-arc oxidation electrolyte to produce a high corrosion-resistant coating on D16T aluminum alloy.
Design/methodology/approach
Ceramic coatings were deposited on D16T aluminum alloy by plasma electrolytic oxidation in alkaline silicate electrolytes with micron titanium carbide particle suspending at different concentrations. Influences of additive concentration on morphology, elemental and phase composition and corrosion resistance of doped PEO coatings were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electrochemical methods, respectively.
Findings
Results revealed that suspending titanium carbide additives incorporated into ceramic coatings through discharging channels and chemically transformed into amorphous stage. The content of titanium in the doped coatings increased with the increasing concentration of suspending micron additive. Compared with the coating without particle addition, the corrosion resistance of the coating produced in 8 g/L titanium carbide suspension increased more than 20 times. The result indicated that the incorporation of titanium into the PEO coatings formed on the D16T aluminum alloy could effectively improve the corrosion resistance.
Originality/value
The mechanism of corporation of TiC and the mechanism of improving the corrosion resistance of the coating were proposed.

Abstract
Purpose
This study aims to measure scientific literature on the emerging research area of “big data” in the field of “library and information science” (LIS).
Design/methodology/approach
This study used the “bibliometric method” for data curation. Web of Science and altmetric.com were used. Data analysis and visualisation were done using three widely used powerful data analytics software, R-bibliometrix, VOSviewer and Statistical Package for Social Sciences.
Findings
This study revealed the most preferred venues for publication. Furthermore, this study highlighted an association between the Mendeley readers of publications and citations. Furthermore, it was evident that the overall altimetric attention score (AAS) does not influence the citation score of publications. Other fascinating findings were moderate collaboration patterns overall. Furthermore, the study highlighted that big data (BD) research output and scientific influence in the LIS sector are continually increasing.
Practical implications
Findings related to BD analytics in LIS techniques can serve as helpful information for researchers, practitioners and policymakers.
Originality/value
This study contributes to the current knowledge accumulation by its unique manner of blending the two approaches, bibliometrics and altmetrics.

Abstract
Resident perceptions of tourism impacts are a swiftly growing area in tourism research that has the potential to contribute to sustainability of destinations. Understanding and analyzing the perceptions of local communities for improving destination attractiveness is key to many destinations, the most popular being mountainous regions. Leh, Ladakh, in the northern part of the Trans-Himalayan region is a renowned Indian tourist place, which sees hordes of tourists in the short summer season. The influx of a large number of visitors in the short season has proved beneficial and also a problem for the destination as tourist numbers overpower the local population numbers leading to pressure on natural resources. Costs of mass tourism are becoming prominent each year and if not scrutinized can damage the likeability of the place. This research attempts to understand resident opinions of impacts of tourism in Leh through primary research. It also aims to find out the link between the demographic profile of residents and perceptions of tourism impacts using a Chi-square test. Results suggest that residents perceive many unfavorable impacts of tourism along with positive impacts. The Chi-square test reveals a significant association between demographic variables and tourism impacts.

Abstract
Purpose
With the advent of metaverse, virtual influencers (VIs) are on the rise and so is their usage in advertisement of various products and services. This study aims to explore the domain of sustainable marketing and presents whether a VI can be more effective than their human counterparts (HIs) when it comes to environmental messaging. The study uses the concept of message frames to check which message frame and influencer type leads to more effective communication and ultimately sustainable purchase decisions.
Design/methodology/approach
A 2 × 2 experimental design was employed to check the effect of the type of influencer (HI vs VIs) on message effectiveness using positive and negative message frames which ultimately affect the purchase intentions of the followers. A combination of two-way ANOVA along with PLS-SEM was used to validate the hypothesized relationships.
Findings
The findings from the structural equation modelling revealed that HIs still continue to be better at communicating environmental messages than VIs. Further, in lines with the previous research this study highlighted the importance of negative message frames in enhancing the effectiveness of posts related to environmental causes. Additionally, the study revealed a positive association between message effectiveness, consequential awareness, environmental activism and sustainable purchase intentions.
Originality/value
Though there is an emergent interest in VIs, scant literature exists on how they encourage sustainable consumer behaviour. This study attempts to fill this gap by assessing the comparison between VIs and HIs in terms of promoting sustainable consumption. It is a novel effort in the crossover of sustainable marketing and influencer marketing.

Abstract
The environmental dimension of sustainable tourism (ST) has become more important than its economic and social dimension in time. In addition, with the increase in the importance given to the environment in destinations, it has been seen as a necessity to measure the environmental attitudes of the local people, as well as their ecological awareness and environmentally friendly tourism behaviors. Therefore, it is aimed to detect the effects of local people's environmental attitudes and their ecological awareness on environmentally friendly tourism behavior within the context of ST. In line with the determined purpose, a field study was conducted in Nevşehir/Türkiye, known as the core Cappadocia, and data were collected from 404 people through questionnaires utilizing the convenience sampling method. Path analysis was performed to detect the effects between the related variables. The research found that environmental attitudes and ecological awareness have a significant positive effect on environmentally friendly tourism behavior. In summary, it was detected that the positive environmental attitude and the high level of ecological awareness of the local people in the Cappadocia Region significantly affect their tendency to exhibit environmentally friendly tourism behavior.
