Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to describe the impact of WorldCat Local implementation on interlibrary loan and to suggest some strategies for successful implementation.
Design/methodology/approach
The experience of the University of Washington Libraries is described in detail with additional data from other early adopters of WorldCat Local.
Findings
The implementation of WorldCat Local caused a significant increase in the number of interlibrary loan requests, and a change in the type of requests and the demographics of requesters.
Originality/value
The University of Washington Libraries was the first library system to adopt WorldCat Local and now has two years' worth of interlibrary loan data to evaluate. This is the first analysis of those data.

The present study provides evidence on export advantages of horticultural commodities based on competitiveness, trade balance and seasonality dimensions.
Abstract
Purpose
The present study provides evidence on export advantages of horticultural commodities based on competitiveness, trade balance and seasonality dimensions.
Design/methodology/approach
The study delineated horticultural commodities in terms of comparative advantage, examined temporal shifts in export advantages (mapping) and estimated seasonality. Product mapping was carried out using the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) and Trade Balance Index (TBI). Seasonal advantages were examined through a graphical approach along with the objective tests, namely, modified QS-test (QS), Friedman-test (FT) and using a seasonal dummy.
Findings
Cucumbers/gherkins, onions, preserved vegetables, fresh grapes, shelled cashew nuts, guavas, mangoes, and spices emerged as the most favorable horticultural products. India has a strong seasonal advantage in dried onions, cucumber/gherkins, shelled cashew nut, dried capsicum, coriander, cumin, and turmeric. The untapped potential in horticulture can be addressed by handling the trade barriers effectively, particularly the sanitary and phytosanitary issues, affecting the exports. Proper policies must be enacted to facilitate the investment in advanced agricultural technologies and logistics to ensure the desired quality and cost effectiveness.
Research limitations/implications
Commodity-specific studies on value chain analysis would provide valuable insights into the issues hindering exports and realizing the untapped export potential.
Originality/value
There is no holistic and recent study illustrating the horticulture export advantages covering a large number of commodities in the Indian context. The study would be helpful to the stakeholders for drawing useful policy implications.

Abstract
Although the term “trigger event” is commonly accepted and frequently mentioned by many disciplines in conjunction with sensemaking, research attention on the trigger event construct is sorely lacking. We chose to examine this construct within a specific setting that global leaders have to master – the intercultural context. After reviewing the relevant literature, we created an original model of trigger events and sensemaking in the intercultural context, which is accompanied by propositions that determine the likelihood of an event rising to the level of a trigger. It is our hope that this theoretical model will lead to a better understanding of how trigger events function in general. The chapter contributes to a greater understanding of the cognitive element of global leadership effectiveness. Finally, the model has practical implications for intercultural and global leadership training and executive coaching.

Abstract
In this paper two important factors – the subgrid model length scale and lateral resolution – are investigated for the large‐eddy simulation (LES) of high Reynolds number turbulent channel flow using resolutions that are insufficient to fully resolve the buffer layer. It is found that the use of standard damping functions will not reproduce correct mean velocity profiles and that good LES results will only be obtained by adjustment of the subgrid model length scales. To also obtain accurate turbulence statistics then special attention has to be given to the lateral resolution.

Abstract
This chapter provides an introduction to how the inquiry-based learning (IBL) approach is being used by colleges and universities around the world to improve faculty and institutional development and to strengthen the interconnections between teaching, learning, and research. This chapter provides a synthesis and analysis of all the chapters in the volume, which present a range of perspectives, case studies, and empirical research on how IBL is being used across a range of courses across a range of institutions to enhance faculty and institutional development. This chapter argues that the IBL approach has great potential to enhance and transform teaching and learning. Given the growing demands placed on education to meet a diverse range of complex political, economic, and social problems and personal needs, this chapter argues that education should be a place where lifelong and lifewide learning is cultivated and where self-directed learning is nurtured. To that end, this chapter argues that IBL helps cultivate a learning environment that is more meaningful, responsive, integrated, and purposeful.

Abstract
Purpose
Communication strategies play a crucial role for hearing-impaired individuals and their reliance on these strategies has become more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic, exacerbating communication difficulties due to measures like face masks and social distancing. The purpose of this study is to compare the usage of communication strategies during pre-COVID, inter-COVID and post-COVID conditions among the elderly.
Design/methodology/approach
To identify the use of communication strategies by the elderly, the authors used a questionnaire developed by Tye-Murray (1992). All 22 participants with hearing loss responded to the 23-item questionnaire during and post-COVID-19 periods with pre-COVID-19 filling based on recall.
Findings
During the COVID period, participants strongly embraced repair and corrective strategies, such as sentence repetition. However, in the post-COVID period, results varied, indicating a less consistent pattern in strategy preference. The test of residual analysis revealed significant differences in strategy usage across conditions, with pre-COVID and inter-COVID conditions playing a more influential role in overall group difference, than the post-COVID period. This research revealed no talker-based or gender-based differences in strategy usage.
Research limitations/implications
Some of the scenarios in the questionnaire were uncommon in Indian contexts and hence similar culturally appropriate scenarios were described to the participants to relate it better.
Originality/value
The findings of this study may be used in providing awareness and training to the elderly with hearing loss on using various communication strategies and improving quality of life in general as well as during pandemics.
